We all know what google glasses are, right?
I just stumbled upon this: http://www.techradar.com/news/world-of-tech/future-tech/google-glass-to-ship-to-developers-this-month--1143834
And I wonder, are they out soon? :D
EDIT(Eeems): title change
-
Soon they will join googles graveyard of products that didn't last.
-
I don't like them. The idea is awesome but knowing google they'll track everything we do.
-
Indeed. Like they already do, but with added video.
-
Who will seriously be mad enough to go out with $1000 on the head ?
Seriously, in a society with no stealers, those glasses could make a hit, since privacy seems not to be a problem for most people using Facebook and such.

I, for one, welcome our tech savvy overlords :P
Joking aside, the price right now is only high since it's a new produc. Eventually, the price will drop making it more feasible to use.
I'm also guessing there will be security features to help prevent theft like each unit having a trackable unique ID.

Android phones. They can already track everything you do.
I'd say look into their privacy policy, and see if there are settings to disable tracking etc.
-
I thought it is "Google glass" not "google glasses" what seems obvious is not obvious.

You are right, it is google glass, not google glasses

This reminds me, I have a friend in 11th grade who works for Google(he hacked sony or something so they hired him).

I don't see the problem with this?
It's not like they will judge you. People google weird things all the time! Plus, even if they do they will never meet me.

It's not about what Google will do with the information, its what others will do with it if they get their hands on it. Like oppressive governments, or law enforcement agencies etc.
-
Hmm I see...
But how would that info help governments, or law?
Don't network providers keep track of what you do anyway?

The main problem would be with other corporations who would want to buy that data. There are also a couple other privacy concerns.
Edit: They don't keep track of you to the point of where you go and what is your routine in outside life. For instance, insurance companies could keep track of how often you go to fast food chains and artificially inflate prices due to "unhealthy activities," for instance.
