Title: Icarus, a knex ball machine
Post by: Sorunome on July 20, 2015, 10:30:16 am
I guess I will never stop building knex.
Anyhow, Icarus has actually been in construction since quite some time, but now it is nearing completion!
This machine is different from all the others I have made.....just take a look at it!

That looks impressive, like a real roller coaster, or better maybe, a bobsled coaster :D

The wind almost blew over icarus......i managed to catch it just in time and now super-strengthened my string attachments to the balcony........i hope it'll still stand tomorrow, they have super-heavy storm warning here currently >.<

EDIT: Ok, so far only the looping is blown over

No worries, that can be easily fixed

Also, the storm seems to have stopped now, but they said it would come and go frequently

That's looking awesome! (Sorry for the late reply). How did you manage to build it up that high? Did you build it on the ground and then lift it up into place? Or did you build it up manually?

Thank you! Better late than never!
I built the tall tower together with a friend, we made modules and then lifted them on top. Ladders are quite helpful for that and the fact that it is actually standing partly on the balcony!
