Title: iPod Internet Problem
Post by: ralphdspam on April 03, 2011, 08:01:17 pm
I have an iPod 3rd Gen running on iOS 4.2.1.
It has been jailbroken with Greenpoison (non-tethered).

I have trouble connecting to my home network, which is N with WEP protection.
I was, however able to connect to my friend's network also with WEP protection.

Here is the odd part: I have been able to connect to the network just fine until I went on vacation last week.  On vaction, I did mess with some of my settings.

I have already tried (multiple times) resetting my network settings, forgetting the network, and renewing my lease.

EDIT: I just noticed that my Network IP is 192.168.x.x, but my ipod's address is 169.254.x.x.

Reboot your router.

But I'm using the connection for my laptop, which is on Omnimaga.  I'll try it anyway.

EDIT: :D Now I'm L6 advanced.
EDIT2: OOPS, I realized I posted in the wrong board. :/

I would say this is a router issue, it does not seem like anything on your iPod could have caused it. If rebooting your router doesn't work, then attempt rebooting your iPod as well, I know I have had an issue with my iPod's wifi before that a reboot fixed, so it might work for you as well ( yay run on sentance :P ).

@Eeems thanks. I'll try that.  Can you also help me move this topic to a more appropriate place?  Thanks.

I also noticed your far-out avatar. Nice. :hyper:

EDIT: I rebooted my router but to no avail. :( I'll try to reset my iPod.
EDIT2: I reset my iPod, but I realized that I had been entering the wrong password.  I do not know why the iPod accepted the connection, though.
Now I have Omnimaga on my iPod. :D Thanks everyone! :)
