By the way, on smaller phones the newer Facebook updates are a mega drain on performance. Take that into account too if you use FB a lot x.x

Facebook just don't work here. Never get any updates. Also, It's not llike I use Facebook everyday, I just don't like FB (some lessons are on the student group...)

BTW I switched my n4 to cyanogen 10.2 nightly and Trinity kernel and it's crazy fast now, also battery life is good enough for school use (had over five hours screen on time today and NO power drain while locked). And I still think that it's far superior to the gs3.

My mom bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for free (plus a 2-year contract), so far it's a pretty good choice.

Yeah, Samsung is known to make pretty good phones. Myself I have a Galaxy Note (first of the name) and it also goes pretty well.

The issue is that in most locations, finding a non-shit phone that is under $500 is next to impossible unless you run into a going-out-of-business sale. :P

On the Play Store the N4 is €249 here. They lowered the price recently beacuse the N5 is coming soon.

You can actually buy a non-shit phone for rather cheap, maybe even for free, but you'll have to buy a rather expensive 3-year contract with that. My mom was kinda lucky to get the Note 2 for free with a 2-year contract.
