/me is wondering how to type brackets in BBCode without having it become a tag, as in [bracket]A[bracket], as in matrix A.
Lol I remember math classes days for me. I usually finished my work/tests before most people (including homework) and ended up coding. I repeated the process in every class except gym and french classes (the later because I always went close to failing and needed to do more effort in reading comprehension).Quote300: Thanks to a few minutes of programming at the beginning of the period, you finish tests in half the time that everyone else takes.
Applies to me :P That's (one of the reasons) why I always have to write down everything :D
Thanks! Good to be back. The real influencer in my taking the risk of cracking the passwords was that DJ mentioned I would be demoted if I had <20 posts per month x.xIt's 10 actually (in a 30 day interval, meaning a staff wouldn't be able to post 10 times on September 1st then wait until October 31st to post 10 more times). Posts in intro/randomness aren't counted. During July until Mid-August it's 5, though. You appear to get online at least twice in 30 days, though, so I have serious doubts you would have troubles with this given how active you are when you come online. Most of the staff I got usually met this except Nitacku in Early 2009 (who only posted on UTI for some reasons, despite being Omni staff. He claimed we didn't have any interesting discussion :P) and Cooliojazz last Fall. Miotatsu and {AP} always were rigth at the limit :P

I am my calculator, and my calculator is me. We are one. When either dies, the other shall follow.
I actually often say: 'my calculator is more powerful than my cell phone, except that it hasn't got calling & sms'ing'True, I can modd more impressively my calculator than my cellphone...
(my brother calls my cell phone a 'brick')
I actually often say: 'my calculator is more powerful than my cell phone, except that it hasn't got calling & sms'ing'I always wondered: When someone calls a cellphone a brick, is it in reference to how back in the days, cellphones were as huge as actual bricks?

93. your teacher yells at you for not paying attention, (while you were programing on your calculator ), then he/she asks you to repeat what the said. You repeat what they said verbatim, and then go back to programming.lol done it worse still is in 1st grade I "wasn't paying attention" went I was asked to repeat back I repeated the last minute of lecture literally word for word. I think my mind has large i/o buffers.

KnightOS is drastically different than TIOS, and would never, ever be able to dual boot. TIOS would f*** it up so bad, and KOS would f*** up TIOS so bad, it wouldn't even be funny. However, dual booting two KnightKernel based OSes is definitely feasible.

Careful allocation of space, and careful selection of pants :)
It was ROL1 I think. I used a buggy ASM utility to archive/unarchive programs inside programs (which was impossible in BASIC) and misusing it could do pretty bad stuff. I feared a reset like what killed Illusiat 2002 (Instead of RAM clears, the calc kept turning OFF until I reset the entire memory)#641 You have more than 1 calc in ur pocketThat happened to me once ;D. They sometimes retaliate by not allowing you to use the calc altogether, though, when you block stuff to prevent them from resetting the calc.They force them to buy Nspires? ;_;
One thing I wonder, though: What do they do with 83+ or 83+SE users or old 84+ OS users? Those calcs got no PTT mode.

On a side note, I could almost turn Omni into a social network if I wanted. There are SMF mods allowing social profiles. However, they're buggy and most allow stuff like blogs and sharing videos. I would rather prefer if people would continue sharing that stuff on the forums. I guess I could always add such mod in the future, though.
1143: omnimaga is your replacement for facebook: social updates meeting with friends etc(even though i go on fb sometimes
Sadly Wikipedia only allows articles about notable organizations that accomplished stuff for the world or notable companies that were very popular. United-TI had a page back in 2006, but it got deleted since it violated Wikipedia's policies. Even ticalc.org has no page there. I believe Kerm tried to have one for Cemetech, but to no avail. To be considered as WIkipedia-worthy, we would most likely need to accomplish the OTcalc project and it would need to be very popular, maybe even as much as HP or Casio calcs.Omnimaga is listed as a reference in the TI-84 Plus Series article, actually. That article was what made me find Omnimaga :)
That said, the site link can always be added to pages such as Calculator gaming, TI-83 Plus or that stuff, if they exists, since it would probably be relevant.

Oh yeah, I remember the events of Christmas 2010. I was there at the time, I was the one who called, it was kinda scary, but it was for DJ's good. I'm really happy and proud that those events finished with a good ending. I dunno if you wanna talk about it, DJ, that's up to you :)I thought this thread was a joke... I didn't realize that people can actually be that addicted to calcs and Omni... this makes me scared of programming on my calculator. :O
And I think what helped him is that I started to regularly hang out with him IRL, therefore solving the no IRL interaction problem.

Erm actually at that time I wasn't even programming for calculators anymore. I was mainly active from 2001 to early 2010 then started a bit again in 2013 after the color 84+ and HP Prime were announced. In late 2010 I was mainly active posting here. And yes the numbered stuff in this thread is a joke, as many of them are exaggerated (although some might actually be true). What I was saying is that my 2010 life collapse (which has long since been resolved) led to me spending much more time online.Oh yeah, I remember the events of Christmas 2010. I'm sorry for judging DJ, I should have understood that that was a hard time and I shouldn't have made jokes about it. (Am being sincere here)
I think you are judging people too fast here or are misunderstanding. The life issues in question had absolutely nothing to do with Omnimaga nor calculators. I will not go into details, but basically people were constantly infringing on my life freedoms via harrassment tactics, judging me and it reached insane extents in late 2009, at one point which I even felt stalked.
In late 02-03 I was much more into calculators than I am right now, yet my life was perfectly fine. The only reason why I wasn't active online back then was because I had no computer at home.

Simple. It shows that any project of interest you have you share on Omni regardless of relevancy to calcs. (Omni is an excellent community for many topics, really)
6260: You have a dream that lasts over the course of approximately 6 hours that you are using Omnom IRC. In the dream, Sorunome (Derpy) spammed using lol's and Xeda talked about grammar. The dream ended when my PC ran out of power lol (true story).

6469: When programming in axe on your calc you often wish you had mindpowers and could just make a program super fast rather than type one by hand. (Often true for me.)My version: think of a game and you get the source. I wish I could do that.
6474: As you are unable to use GUIs like PowerPoint you write your presentation in HTML + CSS + JS (true story)Check out Beamer (http://ctan.org/pkg/beamer) & reveal.js (http://lab.hakim.se/reveal-js/)/slides (http://slides.com/).
So what's epic7?He is/was an omni member
Oh. Thanks for clarifing. What happened? Extreme inactivity?Do you still have the overly restricted computer with extreme slow Omnimaga browsing issue at home?Spoiler For My online time:
No, That was an iPad in Europe :) and public wifiOh. Thanks for clarifing. What happened? Extreme inactivity?Do you still have the overly restricted computer with extreme slow Omnimaga browsing issue at home?Spoiler For My online time:
Also Epic7 lost interest after his TI-Nspire broke.
Erm, I think you're confusing him with Dapianokid. :POh. Thanks for clarifing. What happened? Extreme inactivity?Do you still have the overly restricted computer with extreme slow Omnimaga browsing issue at home?Spoiler For My online time:
6494: You have been convinced that Omni is better then Cemetech, and spam friends with peanuts, and visit Juju's intro thread for different varieties of peanuts. Please take note that we do not claim to be better than Cemetech. (

That happens to anyone not doing sports, anyone who never fail classes or anyone who never bullies anyone else :PNot doing LOTS if sports, never failing classes and bullying extremly rare (in fact only one person) :o
Erm, at 6974, people actually asked me if I'd marry my TI-80. :-[haha, nice one :P
It is?Database backups
Oh, to prevent another takeover? That's my guessBackups are important. If something fails with the current omnimaga server, then we still have all the backups and could simply set up omnimaga elsewhere.Spoiler For Spoiler:
This reminds me of the Ticalc "Fire in server storage room" or something a few years ago (I enjoy browsing old new articles) that make them thankful they had a backup.Oh, to prevent another takeover? EDIT: Also, if you are curious, my whole server, so also the omnimaga image uploader, is been automatically backed up at GMT 8am, I think. As my backup system works waaaaay different it doesn't give a downtime, though it would be waaaaaaaay more a PITA to restore mysql stuff, if i'd be able to restore it at all, but as the image uploader uses the file system that is just fine :)
Oh, to prevent another takeover? That's my guessWe already did that April Fools joke before. :P (back in 2006)Spoiler For Spoiler:
We even did a double takeover once, two years ago or so. As in, we took TI-Planet over while they took us over.I don't think it was meant to be a takeover, though, more like an obvious April Fools prank involving each site swapping names/themes. Otherwise there would be posts about takeovers by some staff :P

6981: You are scared of doing another OS 2.71MP-esque prank like in 2011, because you are scared TI will do it for real (in fact they partially did with Boot code 1.03 <_<).I don't know how you guys come up with all these pranks but they are epic. :D
And yes 2013 was the theme swap prank. This year was the TI Buys Omni prank.
6994: You find learning ASM was easier than learning Axe???
Surprised me a lot...*falling
So now you fly upside down Soru.
6994: You find learning ASM was easier than learning Axe???
I am not saying that Axe is easier then Asm (even though I think it is the case), but at least, I think that learning Asm first makes it a lot easier to understand Axe, no ? So if you already learnt Asm, what's hard in Axe ?
You have as many ways to make arrays in Axe as you want :P6994: You find learning ASM was easier than learning Axe???

Honestly, for me it was the real lack of a good tutorial. Thinks like how to implement arrays and such aren't covered very well. Sure there's the reference for commands, but when I was attempting Axe there was no real indepth tutorial. ASM, on the other hand, had ASM in 28 Days and Hotdog's tutorial. Both are excellent.
7003: You think "ClrHome" but say "Clear Home".Isn't that true?
I fixed it now.7003: You think "ClrHome" but say "Clear Home".Isn't that true?
7005: You try to follow all Omni members on Google+
7006: You are used as the subject of most jokes at your school
7007: You somehow manage to be the most active member that joined in 2014 (postcount judging)
7005: You make as many friends possible in the calculator community and hop your class next year has an Omnimagician in it (After moving)
All true... The jokes too.

bumpThat is why you ask others for ideas. Or steal ideas from others >:D
7015: You attempt to be more productive at programming even though you are out of ideas.

7024: One of your Firefox pinned tabs is http://www.omnimaga.org/unread/?all;start=07026; You rather check recent posts than unread ones
7032: You make a calculator in your game to emulate a Ti-84 and then make your game on the Ti-84, then make another Ti-84, in the game, in the Ti-84, in the game.
7033: You actually did this. (http://www.omnimaga.org/spam/!!!-important-news-!!!/)Why can't I access the link?
I think the spam section is forbidden for members with less than 1000 posts. That and on top of it it's read-only
then there was too much spam and we made it read-only.
7027: You write advanced spaghetti code nobody understands in the Programming I course while everyone else is trying to figure out how to do a while loop.I think you mean code golf. ;)
7034: You visit this site just to make a post in this thread.7035: The Bridge has returned O.O
