The Prime is supposed to be out for sale in the next few weeks.
-

Well, they've already missed the Back to School season, in the vast majority of countries...

Not much different from the price tag of a CX CAS, at least at some French retailers.

Hmm... this is a good trick indeed. I'll have to try it when the HP Prime comes out. :D
-
Supposedly €155 for the Prime, but non-TI stuff is very expensive in Europe so maybe it will be cheaper elsewhere. Shame that they missed BTS, tho, because to know if the calc will be popular, we have to wait one more year.
TI missed the boat as well in France with the color 84+ (online exclusive for now)

They never intended to sell it in stores ;)

It's been made clear months ago by TI-France, that the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition wouldn't be available in shops for back to school 2013.
Maybe they just didn't believe this model would work in France.
Remember that its price is similar with the non-CAS TI-Nspire CX price, for much poorer performances and still no CAS.
And remember the better Casio Prizm and its worldwide commercial failure...
-
I think maybe TI is waiting to see how it does elsewhere.

I think this might be due to the arrival of the 15 MHz TI-83 Plus.Fr, which happens to have a design that is nearly identical to the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition. I was sure that eventually they would sell the CSE in stores there too, though.

They probably had black & white abacuses when they were at the top of their game too ...
