well, every summer I go to this skating place that works as a fun place for me and my friends, and a nice way to get me out of the house >.>
SOO! They hold a talent show every friday (most of the participants are 3-5 year olds jumping >_<)
I decided to mix it up, I told everyone I was singing "Love story" (only one of the counselors was in on the joke) and gave my CD.
Everyone who knew what a rickroll was was shocked when it played, and I was a huge hit.....
needless to say, I pwned everyone :)

LOL
Awesome man :P
-
I wish I had the audacity (and creativity) to do something like this.
-
Just epic!
-
thanks guys, I wish I could have gotten video..... I guess I will sing "chocolate rain" nest time, and give out peanuts :P (no, really, I am actually think about giving peanuts on my next preformance)
-
Haha I remember you talked about this on IRC a while ago, nice to see some ppl got pwned ^^
-
yep, pwned good
-
Hehe, that reminds me of the time I rickrolled my English class when I was supposed to do a presentation on the subject of my choice. I told everyone that I was going to talk about the Steam Punk movement, and so I said that I was going to show them a video about it. Instead, I "Never Gived Them Up".
Sadly, only 2 people understood... On the good side, all the others were initiated to this.
-
Nice qazz. If only I could have been there :P
I ought to do this sometime...
-
I wouldn't do this over here because a lot of people aren't big fan of internet, so they wouldn't get the joke.
-
D: non-internet likers?!?!?
nooo!
-
needless to say, I pwned everyone :)
Don't you mean "ndless to say?"/me slaps his knee

Ideas for the next school football game... I think it'll make it to the news ;D

Idk. It seems people over here are more interested in hot chicks and beer than anything internet related. Heck, on SC I posted "The Game" as my status and nobody from where I live got it. I think no one where I live knows what is 4chan. That, of course, excludes Juju2143. :P

Awesome! I can't say my first attempt was that successful, so great job qazz :D

Here (http://www.google.com/insights/search/#cat=0&q=%22rick%20astley%22%2C%22never%20gonna%20give%20you%20up%22%2Crickroll&geo=&gprop=&cmpt=q&hl=en-US) is some interesting data on rickrolls. I wonder what causes the spike in April 2008?

It's because Youtube made all videos on their front page redirect to the rickroll video that was posted by YTRickRollsYou.

Well I have a small bunch of friends who actually knows Rick Astley, 4chan and the like. We even attempted to go on /b/ one time at school. But still, as what DJ said, the majority of people I know are more interested in hot chicks and beer.
-
x.x We were chatting about /b/ around a friend of ours who hadn't been. He asked what it was, and we told him how bad of an idea it is, never to go, and he would regret it. He went. He has been scarred.
-
Lol SirCmpwn ;D
My first venture on /b/ and 4chan was 5 years ago when Leofox posted a link to 4chan in #omnimaga and it had cock pics x.x. It was the first thing I saw on 4chan so I never really went there afterward. :P

Just out of curiosity, I looked up a map of Internet Users By Country (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Internet_users_by_country_world_map.PNG). As you can see by comparing the maps, China has a disproportionally low number of rickrolls for the number of Internet users it has. Thus, all Omnimagans need to do their part to help educate those poor people of the benefits of Rickrolls. I will be starting a Rickroll China campaign to help resolve this pressing issue.

I blame the Great Firewall of China. :P

newbie question:
What is rickroll?
I'm not completely used to US languages yet

It's not really a part of the language - it's a thing that's discussed pretty much only on the internet. It's when you give a link to someone, saying that it leads to something interesting, but it leads to the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley.
-
Yeah it's an internet meme. If you have heard about Chocolate Rain, duckroll, 2girls1cup, All your base are belong to us, 13375p34k, trololo, The Game and that stuff then you might get an idea of what it is. The TI community also got local memes such as Wacky Fun Random Numbar Generator on ticalc.org and both the peanut bag given to new member and Netham45 being a blue lobster on Omnimaga.
The Starcraft prank in Omnimaga arcade is a rickroll.
Those memes are probably not very big in Korea. Where I live, barely anyone even know what is the Internet. X.x

The internets is place for people to have a life outside of life

HOLY NECROPOST BATMAN!
-
My excuse is that up until now, keeping track of posts has been hell...
-
Except that you have only been inactive for a week and this thread is almost a month old. ;D
That said, the post rate was already pretty high around early October, though (later it slowed down slightly I think)
-
A week? you are mistaken Dj, It has been longer than that :P
-
Not really, you had quite a lot of posts until November 8th or so. Afterward it is when your activity stagnated. But again, by lower activity I mean when you post less than 2-3 times in the entire week. In your case, activity has been lower for at least a week but beforehand you still posted quite a lot, even if not as much as before.
-
hmm, I think that was when (nov 8 of course) I just got tired of manually loooking for topics :/
oh well, things are back to normal for me at least :D
-
I think that probably had to do with that 700+ posts day right before. :P
-
lol, probably XD. I remember that the only I came for was TI-Boy because manually searching was giving my hand a hell lot of work >.>
-
Lately, when I wanted to check a recently posted in topic in particular, I just did a CTRL+F search in the new posts page when it wasn't in the first results. :P

Haha, as has everyone that has been to... that place.
