JKJKJK don't worry, TI is not that fast lol. I hope when Ndless 3 comes out that it's not too hard to implement for newer OSes when they arrive.
EDIT: Whoops, posted in the wrong section. Could someone move this to humor/jokes? Thank you X.x
Edit(Juju): Done.
EDIT (2014): Happy Ndless 3.6 day :D
-
Lol, you had me worried there for a second...
-
Phew. I almost had a cardiac arrest.
-
i read that as Ndless 4.0 came out blocking 3.0.
I was confused :P
-
Stop giving me creeps DJ. :P
-
Hmmmmmm NO
:D
-
Hey, this made me wonder how could TI be this fast :P
-
I am evil. :P (Although not as much as TI)

OS 24.0 out, blocking Ndless 23 (http://is.gd/ofocel.nspire_os_24)

Thank you, good sir. >:(

Don't worry. I clicked on it and it was just an interesting article.
-
no thank you :P

So, what's the countdown before OS 4.0 (or something else) comes out and block both downgrades and Ndless? We all know that TI was monitoring TI-Planet and Omni every second so they can examine the new Ndless thoroughly to fix the exploits now used within hours. :P
(also sorry for scaring you with topic title )

^^^that^^^ :D

OMGOODNESS THAT WAS SCARY. when ti blocks it again will it be possible to make it again?
-
Well, the community has gotten past them every single time so far. :P Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if their new OS version wasn't too far off...
-
True, but it takes longer and longer everytime. Notice for example how Ndless 3 came out in 2011. >.<
-
OK cool...
-
I thought 4.x was preserved for the CSE :P
-
DJ: not really longer actually. OS 3.2.0 didn't include a downgrade protection, we choose not to waste effort upgrading Ndless. Things changed with OS 3.2.4, the new calcs being sold with it and the new hardware revision, but this is more recent.
-
can we remove the downgrade protection on 3.6 now than we have ndless? or does the boot2 stay the same?
-
Yes. This tutorial (http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=14102) explains you how to do so. It is only available in French for now but I am sure they'll translate it soon.
However, removing the downgrade protection is not everything. If you have an "old" model, then it's ok, you can do whatever you want (you see what I mean). But if you have a newer hardware revision, then you'll be able to install the OS 3.1 after removing the downgrade protection, but with some displaying problems.

The tutorial is available in English if you have it set as your site language (upper right corner).

Oh right, I forgot about OS 3.2 >.<. Still, it takes a while until an exploit is found and a working version of Ndless can be pulled out, so maybe one day there will be an OS with absolutely no exploit, although the next OS after it might open a new one through introduced bugs.

It was not at the time I posted, but it got translated in the meantime (see, I said "It is only available in French for now but I am sure they'll translate it soon", and here, it is translated).
