these were part of SMF software for a long while. The SMF team added them as easter eggs. Apparently, also, if your post count reaches 1337, it displays as l337 and if you reach 100000 posts, it says "I'm a geek" or something like that instead of your post count.

There's something else too: ?=PHPE9568F36-D428-11d2-A769-00AA001ACF42 being added at the end of any URL ending with the .php extension will display a PHP logo all distorted like a painting. This one works on every PHP site, tho, but on SMF it displays some weird mascot.
