So, let's sum up things.

The great TI-84+ is shrinking more and more, becoming less and less interesting...

In 2004, we had 128Kb RAM and 1-2Mb ROM.
In 2007, we had 48Kb RAM and 1-2Mb ROM.
In 2010, we have 48Kb RAM and 1Mb ROM.

What's next ? . . .

In 2012, we have the TI-Nspire.

TI-84 - R.I.P. :(

the Nspire and discontinuation of 84+SE is the cause of the end of the world in 2012!  :(

No that's when they get rid of the Asm(), AsmComp(), SirCmpwn(), OpenLib(), ExecLib() and Asmprgm commands on new TI-84+ OSes and add an anti-downgrade lock to them :P

SirCmpwn()?!  thats a new one to me lol.  :P
and why does that give me the immpression that SIr's parents work for TI?  :P

We never know! ;D

I was kidding, though, because the AsmComp() command made me think of SirCmpwn :P

What would be funny is if there was an Axe Parser easter egg with the new token names that changed AsmComp() to SirCmpwn() instead of Axiom() when you put 3 dots instead of 1 or 2 in the program header :P

That'd be hilarious!  I'm all for it! ;D

Ah ok. Well you would need to get it on Ebay, right? (Since all calcs in stores lacks some extra pages)

Yeah, kinda late for 1011. I don't think TI even released the 84+ back then yet.

That's not proof... I just like the Alpha keys grouped at the bottom and the 320x240 pixel screen. ;)

TI-84 - R.I.P. :(

Don't forget the 68K calcs... they are still kicking... for the time being.

Yeah I have some doubts in long terms x.x, seeing how long ago was the last OS update...

The 68ks will not be killed until all of their functionablity has been added to the Nspire CAS.  This is coming soon, I believe...

Yeah, but you have to keep in mind the last calc to have extra pages was released 3 and half a year ago. That's already quite a long while ago.

Yeah, kinda late for 1011. I don't think TI even released the 84+ back then yet.

You forget that the components inside the 84+ can be used to build a time machine. How else would you explain the arcane operating system quirks?

ha, wrong! they have asm SUPPORT, the nspire CAS doesnt (without a hack)

Yeah I have doubts the Nspire will have ASM capabilities soon...

If they ever provide a SDK I wouldn't be surprised if it was paid and if the only apps that were allowed to be installed on a Nspire were ones that were approved by TI on their site or something. In the later case, I am certain they would reject any game-based apps x.x

True... I have a feeling it's a secret feature somewhere on the 84+SE...

Yeah I have doubts the Nspire will have ASM capabilities soon...
