Please get rid of smiley's in the post notification bot or at least add the option to disable them.
-
Maybe uh, describe what should be fixed. :P
-
Gotcha
-
LOL. XD
-
Oh my, that is a bit peculiar... O.O
-
Options > Show Smileys > No. It's already there just at the top of the userlist.
-
Well, it's nice to have them but disable them for topic notifications. Maybe with an escape char added by the bot.

Yeah but I think that people just want them disabled in new posts notifications, not everywhere else. :P
I don't mind animated smileys once in a while, but if a topic has *.* *.* *.* *.* in the title and that topic is very active this can get kinda annoying >.<
That said, if you didn't already you could submit a request in the ourl.ca/issue thing (I think it's done but we never know)
-
You mean this??
-
The issue is that the new-post-notifications are just normal chat messages like any other, hay, that is in fact only an IRC bot and has nothing to do with OmnomIRC
-
it would be easy enough to add an exception to Omnom that checks if the message is coming from said bot, though.
EDIT: or, even better, just have it watch for /me <Green>post by
-
Don't have it watch for /me. I often use emoticons in these.

The thing with that is that that would be a pretty hardcoded way.
But rhinking about this issue since i posted in here I got an idea on how i can make it good and configurable :)
-
Just add an emoticon blacklist by nick name. Or more configurable filters for more stuff if you feel like it (to prevent people from spamming smileys for example).
-
yeah, that was basically the idea.
I also need to make it so that certain urls don't get added _blank, currently that is harfd-coded >.<

Actually I like that idea for a different reason too: Users who totally abuse emoticons on IRC. :P Sometimes you might not want to disable them, but one or two users (or the bot) might ruin everything for you.
-
Like an ignore list but for emoticons? Yeah that's an idea.
The possibilities are endless.
-
Yeah, it would only ignore emoticons from an user, not his posts, and you would still be able to see emoticons from others.
-
That's what I was talking about. Also some intelligent stuff like if there is more than a certain number of emoticons then block the message server side ('cause that's called flood :P).
-
i'll see what i can do about it :)
The issue I see with blocking is that IRC itself doesn't block anything.
