There is a huge problem on ticalc.org: as of now, they have only 144 TI-BASIC quadratic solvers.
How are we supposed to solve the quadratic formula if we have this small amount?
In the way I see it, a growing calculator community should have thousands of quadratic solvers!
Please submit your quadratic solver before the first of April. Make sure to make your program unique!
If 100 of us submit a quadratic solver, thousands will be happy.

I still like the tunnel idea in there ;D

One for each user! Everyone is unique; shouldn't quad solvers be as unique as we are? ;D
-
This topic immediately reminded me of http://s12.invisionfree.com/qslf

Clearly combining quadratic solvers and tunnel games is the way to go.
-
We need to have calcnet-enabled solvers, that can use all the calcs' powers as one! then we can quadratically solve all numbers!
-
You should improve on the interface. When given two of the coefficients, the program should predict the third coefficient, and solving for it.
-
TI and fortune tellers will go bankrupt!
-
I believe the future of quadratic solvers lies in sound and grayscale!
Maybe it can even have a big blue finale! (PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS ONE AT HOME!)

Don't worry,I'm not about to do that/me sends $1D to port $10

Hmm idea... a number guessing game merged with a tunnel clone and a quadratic solver. Type a formula, then it starts a tunnel game. Guess a number from 1 to 3 and if you guess right it lets you move in a direction and then gives you the quadratic formula answer thing after surviving 10 seconds. O.O
-
And don't forget the sound and 16-level grayscale.
-
Well, mine has a cubic solver in it.
-
Well, that would work, but you have to add Castlevania in it
Castlevania makes ANYTHING and EVERYTHING better :D
-
Crysis.
-
Is anyone really going to make a quadratic solver for April 1? I am planning to. :P
-
I plan to :D I am trying to figure out how to combine a tunnel game and quadratic solver, though :D
-
Yeah the quadratic solver has to run crysis :P
-
I think imma try to make crazy one either.
(Quad + Random Battle.... XD )
-
I'll make a racing quadsolver.
the 'rank' you get is the A, the time you take(in frames) is the B, and the number of times crashed into something is a C
I'll start now.
-
We have today and tomorrow left! I should quit slacking!
-
Is there a competition or something?
-
I think it's just for April Fool's day XD
-
I plan to :D I am trying to figure out how to combine a tunnel game and quadratic solver, though :D
Here's an idea: ask for the coefficients, and the program will find the roots. You will then be required to GUESS the roots that it solved, and if you get it wrong, you will have to survive in the tunnel for 10 seconds. Oh, and to be even more evil: to guess the number, the tunnel will expand and split into the digits, and you have to travel through the hole that corresponds to the digit you want to guess.
-
Yeah the quadratic solver has to run crysis :P
Someone should mod Runer's insane tunnel game to be a quadratic solver (with his permission) :P
-
so what do I do with quad solvers that I made?
Where do I post?
-
Just post them on ticalc.org. You can link to them on this topic. :)
-
oh XP
*yeongJIN_COOL is posting some crazy quad solver
-
I posted my solver, but I have a feeling it will be denied. :\
-
Hehe, I am putting on the finishing touches to mine... I didn't actually make anything special, though :/ It is just a slow process selecting the coefficients... I plan to make some way where you need to input your values to begin with, then your selected coefficients are used to find the roots and then depending on how accurate your two inputs are will determine how accurate the output result is :D
-
Posted mine on tcalc.org...
I hope it would get approved because it's evil and its size is nicely capped at 666 bytes... >:D

What you need to do, Xeda, is write yours in Hex, if you haven't already.
-
Hmm, no I didn't :/ I should have !_! Owl, there is always next year...
-
I wonder if the files will be accepted. They have 14 files pending as of now.
-
Mine lets you input the coefficients, but then says 'Well, those are boring numbers let's try (x), (y), (z) instead" and then it solves for them instead :P
-
:P I like that idea. I also used google translate for my readme file.
-
Aw mine is still pending...
I wish it would get accepted today D:
-
Nice, Ashbad :D I uploaded mine... It really is a cruddy piece of work and not even close to cleaned up...
-
Mine is finally uploaded XD

Yay, mine got snuck in with games :D

Here's my terribly unoptimized quadratic guessing program. :P

EDIT: I just noticed that it says 3116. I first thought it said 1336. Never mind. :P
EDIT: This was moved to the jokes section. Do you want to hear a joke?
-
Hm, I'm planning to write a Turn Based Strategy Quadratic Solver in TI-Basic for next year :P
-
Ok. Good luck. :P
-
Thank you for your efforts. You all deserve peanuts.
