Btw the frozen mentos trick won't work unless the water you put them in is already near freezing point when you put them in the freezer, otherwise the mentos will dissolve a bit, preventing the wanted reaction from occuring.I think that the wanted reaction won't occur regardless of how the menbtos were frozen, because when the ice melts, the whole mentos won't just 'pop out' of the still frozen part of the ice, but instead, at first it will only be a little bit exposed, which causes the soda to release all off it's gas in a slower, less explosive manner.
