Title: Greetings >_<
Post by: Hiryu on April 29, 2010, 08:04:40 pm
I never introduced myself - thats not good.

I go by Hiryu Rhys (pen name obviously)

I've been doing calc games & graphics since 1995 & was introduced to the calc community back around 96~97.
I started out with the TI-85, then obtained my TI-92 in 1996 & finally my TI-89 around 2000.
Since I am a huge anime/manga fan - you will notice all my stuff has a heavy influence around it.
Hence also why my deviantart page is nothing but anime related material. I've been friends with Fryedsoft
for many years now & alot of my ti-calc projects have either been assisted by him or at least picked his
brain for some information. If it wasn't for Fryedsoft - I'd be ti-calc-less >_<
Look forward to everyone letting me & Fryedsoft know what you think of our projects - check us out.

-peace

Oh hi and welcome around :)

I remember going on your old site on calc.org sometimes, it was nice stuff you had there. Unfortunately I couldn't beat any game because I was using an emulator back then and had limited computer access at school :(

It's nice to see an old TI programmer (in terms of joining year) still being around. The majority of people generally leave after 1 year or 2, sometimes even 0.5 x.x. 1995 makes me feel like my 9 years in the TI community are not a lot XD

I hope you continue working on some stuff ^^

Btw altough this website is only 83+/84+ (mostly TI-BASIC and Axe languages, but also some ASM) and a few TI-Nspire coders, a bunch of us owns 68k calcs too, so we can still try out games for them.

lol don't worry ^^ (altough not to discourage you but it is starting to feel a bit weird for me that most of the current board members were about 5-7 years old when I joined the TI community :P) plus we got a few older members anyway and on a music making forum I used to administrate (now I only do maintenance) I was the second youngest active member I think. Most members were in the late 20-30s :P

age doesn't really matter I think, it's more about how people like calc stuff

Btw since you like anime we have an anime subforum here so you might like. I tend to not post there much, though. A bunch of our IRC users are also anime fan, altough they don't always post on the forums.

Yea don't worry, DJ Omnimaga constantly tells me I'm old. Last week he even claimed I was turning 72! >_> Can you believe that? I'm a fan of both your and Ed's work and have been since I got my original Ti-89 (which I still have and love). I hope you enjoy your stay here!

Hello and welcome to Omnimaga!!! Great to see an older programmer, being in the community from 1995 is a long time!!! I own a TI-84+ Silver Edition (it sucks because its serial number is H!!! DAMN, no TI-Boy SE In class. X.X) Oh well, I have been in the TI-Calc Programming scene since 2008, I have been in the computer scene writing batch files since 1998 (I wrote my first very simple batch file at 4 years old! I've been fluent in computers since very young! XD), and I have been in the general programming scene since 2004. Although I am not very good at calc programming, I have tested and checked out a lot of calc programs, especially lately, so I'll check your stuff out and give feedback as I see it.

Sorry for the long message, have fun, and enjoy your stay here!

-Stephan

Aw 72 is not that bad. For Netham45 it was 81, after all :P

@Stephan I hope you eventually get back into the groove ^^
