Why, hello there!
I've been browsing the omnimaga forums for awhile now, and decided to join. It's not the most convenient of places for me, right now, but it'll work (I say this because at school the site is blocked). I'm only home about every-other weekend, with limited time on the computer, but I'd love to help out with anything! I've been dabbling with TI-BASIC and Lua, and I'm learning more. I'm here to help and learn! I'll post some of my programs in the forums if you'd like. In short, I'd like to get to know some of the community. Also, please note that because I only have limited access to the forums, I won't be able to reply as often as I'd like, and please don't take it personally.

Hello :)
Great to see yet another Lua coder join the forums!
-
Heya and welcome here. Sorry to hear that the site is blocked at school. I guess it doesn't help that we are very game-oriented, but it's inevitable I guess. Hopefully you can visit us anyway :)
-
Wow! Thanks for the welcome! I didn't expect such a quick response! :D And, YAY PEANUTS! lol. I have one quick question... Is there a way to do C/ASM programming on-calc for the TI-Nspire?
-
apparently there is only hex editor
http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/438/43841.html (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/438/43841.html)
but i guess thats not going to help much :(
-
Asm would be possible, but C would mean compiling..
I tried that using linux and it needed more than 2 minutes IIRC for printf("Hello World!\n"); :/
Edit: Forgot the peanuts, welcome!

Was that with GCC? I wonder how TCC would do.
-
Tcc could be fast enough. Combined with nTxt it could be possible, but probably no bflt without hacking tccs source.
-
Yay! MOAR Lua!
Welcome to Omnimaga! :D

Too bad that you have limited access, but better limited than none!
Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy your stay!

Yay! Peanuts and MLP! :D I have Linuxloader2 on my Nspire Touchpad (Non-CAS), but I can't find the mountpoint for the nspire filesystem. Anyone know? I haven't been able to find anything online.
-
Mountpoint for the internal filesystem? If you can find it, tell us!
Jokes aside, there isn't even a filesystem driver (datalight reliance) and block device driver (datalight FlashFX) yet :(
-
hi welcome to the forum :D
have some more peanuts (they're great :D)

It's good to have you here. From looking at your questions (which are very good questions to be asking), I see that you're interested in Nspire linux, which is also how I got interested in Omnimaga.
In regards to assemblers, GNU as running under Debian on the Nspire, I can assemble jacobly's calcemu in about 25 seconds, which seems slow, but recall that calcemu is quite a bit larger than many pure-code assembly projects. The problem being is that you must have an external flash drive to hold the Debian file system, since it's too big to fit as an initrd. Also, if you have questions about linux on the nspire, don't hesitate to post in the Nspire Linux Questions (http://ourl.ca/17509) thread.

I'm not here to give you anything of relevance except for access to the (rationed, I might add) surplus of peanuts located in my avatar.
Indeed, your experience with Omnimaga would be forever incomplete if not for the peanuts provided by the staff./me le munches

anyone want to ask me about my dragon novel i am writing? :-\
like what it is about? :(
i feel sad that there seems to be no interest. :'( :'(
-
Maybe it'd be wiser to find a forum or outsource appropriate to that discussion. Take it into off topic here, or find somewhere for prospective writers. They might be much, much more receptive :) It's not that we're uninterested, it's that there are definitely more interested people elsewhere :)

where do i try to find a better website than this? :-\
-
This would probably go in the misc section of the forums (with an appropriate title so people notice), but it depends if we have anyone interested in that kind of literrature and their free time.

That itty-bitty QR code. Do you have a better resolution? Because pretty much anything that upscales an image applies some type of blur to it, and this makes the code unreadable.
-
Yeah I hate that sometimes. I would like to use smaller images in some cases to save size, but when resizing calc screenshots they look like total crap unless someone uses IE6 or some other outdated browser. Also, since his code has blue in it, certain QR code readers might not be able to read it properly (or ones that can might have trouble doing so under certain amount of lightning)

hey I'm home all the time now, so I'm able to do some more work!! Thanks everyone for the peanuts and money!! I haven't done much of anything with the Inspire since the update, since I now have college work and stuffs. I have unlimited access to my laptop now so ^.^ glad to be back
