Hi, I am Stephan. I am probably already well known on the omnimaga IRC server, but decided I would give my forum account a jump start. I know little calculator programming, but hope that my experience on Omnimaga will teach me how to program on the calc well. I am an avid Visual Basic programmer, so I guess that is a semi-start, considering that TI-84 programming incorporates BASIC coding, and VB is a very modified and enhanced form of BASIC. Hope to learn a lot here and meet new people!!!! Oh, and DJ, please stay on IRC, people are gonna troll and be stupid, there is nothing you can do, and you just gotta deal with it. That is one of the risks, and if I've learned anything so far in my life, I've learned you can't defend everyone, and sometimes not even yourself. So please take that advice in your mind the next time some moron trolls, floods, spams, or gives you other problems on the IRC channels. The internet is a crazy place.

Hi Stephan and welcome here. I hope you eventually get interested in calc programming. It would be nice to see you around for a while. I can't wait to see what computer stuff you got to offer, though.
As for IRC, I may return but only if some people I won't name are gone (just as clue, one is active on the channel, but barely on the forums. The other one is never really active on both except to complain). Unfortunately, just because for you it is easy to ignore trolls it doesn't mean it's easy for everyone. I tried for 20 years and after stuff happened 5 years ago it became a lost fight for me and I abandonned about 6 months ago. So for now all I can do is either remove myself from the chan since I cannot control my emotions, or ban the said people. However, for the later, I was skeptical about doing it because I don't think people want the two people to retaliate with an anon raid.

Well in theory couldn't the admins place sound clips on the pages? (Like the giant Rick Rolls :P)
yeah I did that on the old board once, except it wasn't with a rickroll, since back then I didn't knew about memes besides the OVER 9000 one. Over here I did embeed auto-playing Flash movies in posts, though.
In 2009 I was too busy to do a proper April fools joke and just added a rickroll above the staff list on both TIMGUL and Omnimaga front page.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I will contribute as much as I can, and I will update about any projects I do. I am very interesting in working with calc programming, and as said, I hope to learn a lot here. Thanks guys a lot. Oh and DJ, you are right. Not everyone can handle that trolling crap. Just thought to give some advice. XD
