Title: Hello community!
Post by: BigBrotherNoir on February 07, 2012, 02:33:09 pm
Well, I have been doing my best to learn programming (visual basic and java) for the last couple of years, and so I thought that this community of like-minded individuals could be a well-spring of information and assistance. I purchased an nspire a while back ago, and the ndless software was the best thing that I could have ever gotten for it, so I would like to express my thanks for Extended and Goplat and all the others who invest their own time and money into their work(sorry if I misspelled your name or lacked to include you). I am available to chat during the school day towards the end of the day, but I would like to chat with people about design and such.

Hello! This is a pretty large community, so I am sure you will find folks with whom to discuss. (that is my second time I have ever intentionally used the word "whom" and I have no clue if I used it properly o.o )

Welcome here! The peanuts are a tradition that one of our older members started long ago. It was just something that happened to stick. :) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it here.

GRAMMAR LESSON TIME!
Hello! This is a pretty large community, so I am sure you will find folks with whom to discuss. (that is my second time I have ever intentionally used the word "whom" and I have no clue if I used it properly o.o )
You are using it correctly. "Whom" is an object; "who" is a subject. "Who are talking to?" is technically grammatically incorrect, because the subject is you, not the person you are talking to. Because of that error, the sentence ends with the word "with," which is a preposition. The sentence really should be "With whom are you talking?"

Or can it be "To whom are you speaking?"
Anyways, I forgot to give you some !peanuts !

your original only sounded strange because discuss typically has a direct object (so, with whom to discuss things). the whom was used properly

anywhoozle, welcome here, you!
oh, and here (http://ourl.ca/7051) are a few more types of peanuts, in case you want some variety XD
