Title: Hello,World!
Post by: AndyLi on July 10, 2014, 11:21:09 am
(The following text was translated from my Blog, any way, hello everyone!)

I'm a 15 years old student in ShenZhen China
Just like many other normal senior high school students, we're not allowed to use calculators in school
so playing calculators is just my hobby~

I've been dreaming of becoming a programmer or a developer, I'm keen on all kinds of electronics.
That's probably why I selected calculators, they're cool enough

New calculators in china are really expensive, but second-hand calculators are not. After purchasing my first second-hand calculator----Hp 49G+ from the internet, I opened the gate of the world of calculators.

It's so lucky to find such a nice forum, hello world!

Heya and welcome to the forums. :D Glad you got a 49g+ btw. Good thing it's not the 49g original because the keypad breaks very fast and the screen too (it turns rainbow IIRC). Can you upgrade the 49g+ to 50g OS? Because I heard that the 50g OS, especially the community patches, is more stable.

China!您好!我是北大附小的...离深圳远。。。(I think).
How far is Bejing from ShenZhen anyways?
How many Chinese members do we have anyways?

EDIT: You can read simplified Chinese, right? And I have no idea why I used 您, it should be 你 or something :P
I'm a slightly-good translator :P My school asked me to translate, and I (obviously) had the best English in my Chinese class... Ask if you need help
(anyone, actually)

EDIT2: Peanuts (I call them Omninuts) in my avatar, the game peanuts from Juju's thread, where you can find a wealth of peanut brands :P

I know that Northern Snow is from China and sometimes posts in the Nspire section. I don't remember if anyone lives in China, but we have plenty of members who were either born in China or who have parents that used to live there. We had quite a lot of South Korean members too at one point.

Thank you for the Omninuts!
It's nice to see someone in the forum who also lives in china,
It's pretty far from shenzhen to beijing. there are about...I'm not sure..about 2000 km(s) from beijing to shenzhen.
I'm not sure about how many chinese are in here, most of chinese calculator geeks are in cncalc.org ;)

And, It's nice to meet a translator! Recently I'm trying to practise my english skill through translating, but I often get some problems I can't solve. How about your ideas?
By the way, if there are some problems with my english in my posts or on my blog, please point them out, thanks!

America: Teacher has me translate for new Chinese student
China:英语课代表

the English the Chinese schools teach is strange to me sometimes...

Just so you know, 北大附小2008年12班,I'm not there anymore (theyre in middle school anyways)

Well, I love ShenZhen very much! It's a very lively city, good place for living,
Though sometimes we get haze days, The environment here is still much better than other cities I have ever been to in China. People here are well-mannered (than most parts of china?)
Because It's one of the first cities experienced the "Chinese economy reform", You can find many hi-tech companies here (There are also many in Shanghai)

By haze, do you mean smog?雾霾?
At least they have manners :P You should see how much my classmates in Bejing swear on qq... They are the worst class in the grade (according to all the teachers)

And wait, you have +4 karma already *.*

But again, USA and Canada also have neightboorhoods that have mainly bad-mannered people or high crime. For example, most of the city of Detroit is crime-ridden and some police officers said to enter the city at your own risk.

I heard that in China roads are dangerous, though (with higher risks of car accidents). Is that true?

I think... The traffic in Bejing is horrible, so they had a way of letting cars who's license plates began with a specific number/letter out. Then everyone bought 2 cars....
Anyways, I think the bikes are worse.

Over here, some people drive in the streets with bikes the same way cars does and if there isn't much traffic it slows down cars behind. >.< In most places, though, people use their bike on the sidewalk or side of the screen, although the former is dangerous for pedestrians (and illegal in some cities), while the latter is dangerous for yourself due to some idiot car drivers driving way too close to the sidewalk.

Idiot car drivers: hmm... that sounds familiar from my experiences in China :P

Indeed, but IIRC in China the laws are more lax regarding driving, right? In Quebec people drive like idiots even if there are stricter laws and stuff. But again, it might have to do with poor law enforcment, though, since there are not enough cops to keep up. And in certain cases cops don't have their priorities set up straight (for example, if you leave your kids suffocating in an hot car you get a $60 fine, but if you get caught walking on the grass in a park you get a $100 fine)
