Hi, I recently got a Ti-Nspire w/ touchpad for my junior + senior years in high school along with college.
I have some programming knowledge. Java is probably my strongest suit, though I know a little Lua and Visual Basic (I hate that language, so I don't really count it). I am interested in learning Ti-BASIC, though.
I joined Omnimaga because I like modding my devices. I rooted my Android phone within the first week of owning it. ;D
Other facts:
-I really enjoy machining.
-I'm part of our school's Battle Bot team.
-(As of now) I'm planning on going to RIT or RPI with a major in mechanical engineering.
-I'm Vietnamese, though don't speak the language.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

Axe ftw! You should consider learning axe parser.
EDIT: And welcome and stuff lol :)
-
Welcome on Omnimaga :)
-
Welcome to Omnimaga, you know Lua and have an Nspire, you should get started with Lua on the Nspire, visit http://inspired-lua.org/ (http://inspired-lua.org/) ;)
I'm sure you'll love this place, how did you find us?
-
@buttsfredkin: Hmm, looks interesting, I'll look more into it.
@ephan: Wow, that's just the website I was looking for. Looks like they have great tutorials and explanations. Thanks!
I heard about the place through hearing about Ndless, which I heard through ticalc.org, which I found when I was looking for a program to simplify radicals (instead of 6.9282, it would be 4 square roots of 3)

Welcome! I'm sure you can learn TI-BASIC easily, it's simple compared to java.
Here are some complementary peanuts

Wait, Axe only works on the ti-83/84 + (se) family of calcs. Do you have that?
-
@chattahippie: Thanks for the peanuts!
@buttsfredkin: Unfortunately, no.
-
No prob.
I thought that Axe could run on an nspire if you had the 84+ extension, but I may be wrong...
-
Heya and welcome on the forums.
As for Axe Parser, if your Touchpad came with an extra 84 Plus Silver Edition keypad, you should be fine. I'm unsure if TI still sell the 84 plus keypad, though.
-
Welcome to Omnimaga! I hope you have a wonderful time here. :)
-
@DJ_O: Yeah, TI still ships those out. I just ordered mine.
-
Hello Frapiscide. I would definitely recommend Axe or perhaps Grammar/ReCode. (I think those two are going to be pretty popular once completed) Can't wait to see some of the projects you come up with. :D
-
Hello~ Welcome to omnimaga.
TI-BASIC is really an easy language, you can learn it quickly. ^_^
-
If you don't have a calc from the TI-83+ family, Axe would be hard to learn for you (except if you have the 84+ mode or something ???)
If you have an Nspire, I can't help you ;D (because I don't have one and don't understand anything to it) but others would be happy to help.
Anyway, welcome here.
-
The nSpire has a z80 emulator, so I believe you can run Axe programs with it.
Anyway, welcome to the forums and good luck programming!
-
@DJ_O: Yeah, TI still ships those out. I just ordered mine.
Cool to hear. Keep in mind certain programs like MirageOS will not run on it, though. Axe will work.

Hi Frapiscide! Welcome to Omnimaga!
Great to hear that we have another Lua programmer! :D
If you need help on anything, don't hesitate to ask! And if you have a Lua question, I've probably asked it already :P.
