Title: Hi guys
Post by: obon7 on November 22, 2011, 09:18:48 pm
Hi my name is obon7 I know c++ and all other related coding(java, javascript etc.) I also figured out TI basic which is what I normally use to code games and other stuff ( primarily to keep me preoccupied in school). I like learning and am not too focused on big projects ( until I get better at programming). My goal really to just get good at programming.

I have never knew that a programming language called Axe existed since coming here so I am definitely interested in learning it. Question: is Axe for calculator or computer and also what languages are the realtives of Axe because If I know them it would make it easier

Axe is for calculater! it's an onlboard compiling/programming app, and it's relative to BASIC

The closest thing to axe would be BASIC, although their syntax is quite different.

Welcome to Omnimaga! :D

Yeah, Axe is similar to TI-BASIC (as the code is edited on-calc in the program editor), but has more advanced features of its own, making it a language more related to C. Anyway, it's a must for 83+/84+ owners.

Short description of axe:
Axe is a programming language for the ti-83 and 84 family. It's a compiled language, not interpreted like ti-basic.

Axe has a bunch of more features, including sprite support. Axe syntax is different than basic but it only took me a weekend to adjust to axe.

Another great thing about axe is that it is very fast, almost in the speed of assembly language, easier. Download axe on its subforum and scan the documentation for more info and help.

Go into the Axe projects subforum to see the results as juju said, it's a must-have!

I almost forgot. It is my duty to provide the newcomers of omnimaga with a present:
Peanuts.

Wait do I actually get Peanuts.......................

That's some sort of old Omnimaga inside joke that has been running for a few years by now, in the intro section.

Also welcome by the way. </late>
