Finally I've registered now, allthough I am already using this forum for some time.
The first programming language I got to know was PHP, but I actually began to write more or less "serious" programs, when I got my TI-84+ .
A few days ago I downloaded the Axe Parser, because my tries to lern assembly all did failure due to compiler troubles...
Well, that's it about me.
If there are further questions, simply ask...
-
Cool! Here you will find a large knowledge base about Axe Parser, Assembly, hex, and BASIC (as well as some computer programming :P)
But yeah, feel free to ask questions... there are plenty of people here who can answer :D
Hi!

welcome ;D

Hex (which Axe supports) :D
There's also Mimas (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/431/43140.html) if you want to take a crack at Assembly again. Axe is still a lot of fun to use.
-
Yes, but I think I will be kept busy with the Axe Parser for the next time.
It has the great advantage of on-calc programming (allthough I know that there are similar possibilities for asm), so that it is more portable (and it doesn't attract that much attention especcially of teachers... ;) ).
And I think the Axe Parser is usefull as an approach to asm as well...
-
hello and welcome here! I'm kinda late lol
-
Heya and welcome here! :) I hope you enjoy the forums and calculator programming for a while. :D
-
Welcome here! ;D

Thanks alltogether!
There's a very likable atmosphere in here. :)

We try to have good electronic atmosphere

Stop messing with me electrons. They have good atmosphere

Yes you are right, there. If you can master Axe, you will be well on your way to assembly. It will give you a glimpse into data structures that will be very valuable when learning assembly. Please, have fun while you are here and definitely ask questions. We all rely on each other, here, as a community and as you said, it makes a very likable atmosphere ^-^
Hi!
...
Oh wait, I already said that...

Hi!

I'm also a little late, but hi!
PHP is cool. I never really got around to it, as I'm more of a Java/C++ guy, but oh well.
A few days ago I downloaded the Axe Parser
Reminds me of when I first got Axe. It was version 0.0.5, or something like that.
I think you might find this useful. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0)

Yeah, I agree, that's why I think this site is the bomb :)
boom
Oh and btw happy birthday welcome to omnimaga :D

Oh my! I love that video! I literally watched it for over an hour earlier today ♥
-
I exited before the video started
You will never get me
-
I just got the message that this video isn't available in my country...
So what was it about? :)
@Binder News:
I like PHP for it's a very comfortable programming language.
Allthough it's barely usable for every kind of program.
-
Hmm, maybe after you get your 5 posts in, you can type "never gonna give you up" in OmnomIRC. You only need 3 more ^-^
-
It was a rickroll I think. I never saw it. If you are ever redirected to Youtube without trying to go there exit quickly its a rickroll. It also happens if you post "the game" in IRC.
I lost the game and so did you :hyper: ;D
-
well 2 more now! :D
EDIT: So I will hold this in mind if I am confronted with dubious links in future... ;)

And if you want to try assembly, try Mimas. It is an on-calc assembler and ide. It is also very user friendly and catches your errors as you type. Becuase of this I have never had a complier error since I started using it a few months ago.
-
When I tried to learn assembly, I wasn't even able to compile the "Hello world"-program.
I had two compilers controlled by a .bat-file and they seemed to have troubles with the header I had just copied... :(
Mimas sounds much better anyway.
-
I kinda like mimas, but for some reason it doesn't seem very... I don't know how to put it, but it doesn't really feel the same as notepad for some reason :P It's amazing, I use it all the time; but for larger programs I find notepad and then Brass much easier to manipulate the prog(gy)
EDIT: personally I recommend you write your own batch files for compiling, because then you can customize it to know exactly WHERE in your somp your source is located, add options/ progress text, or even make it sing this song: (not a rickroll, I have my batch file actually sing this song's chorus)

Maybe because of seven lines being readable on the calc-screen..? :D
-
That probaly would have something to do with it
-
Maybe because of seven lines being readable on the calc-screen..? :D
not quite that, I like you only see a little portion at a time, much easier to digest actually. What I don't like is how you can't have "Blank Lines" in between parts of code, and it's a little slower to type into. and no I have already tried putting "NOP's" in the lines to make it "Blank" but that just irks me O.o
-
you will be well on your way to assembly.
But then you stand no chance to survive make your game. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
(sorry, I couldn't resist doing a Zero Wing reference :P)
