Guten tag!
I'm BlakPilar (I'm sure I'll be releasing my real name at some point, but not now :P)! I literally just made this account and I'm migrating over from TI-Basic Developer, though I will still frequent there. Um... I haven't had time to customize my profile yet, so if there is anything that you want to know about me, feel free to ask!
Just some quick info:
-I know TI-BASIC (obviously), VB.NET, C#.NET, HTML, CSS, and ASP.NET
-My favorite genre of music is metal (Whitechapel metal, not Skillet metal (though I do like Skillet lol))
-I LOVE PROGRAMMING :D
-I'm working on a project now called TBEXE. Take a guess at what it does ;)
-
Hola!
I'm Freyaday, and I am currently into Lemon Demon!
I'mma catboy!
I love Axe!
And here are your free !peanuts
-
Welcome to Omnimaga!
My real name is my user name -- I'm afraid I'm not a very clever person :)
Hmmm, TBEXE...
...It's sad that the first words that entered my head were 'tuberculosis' and 'teletubbies'...
Give a hint? :D
-
Wow, quick responses... I like it!
@Freyaday: Thanks for the peanuts! :D
@Michael Lee: My name is too long to use as a username lol
Hmm... A hint for TBEXE... Ok:
--(It's a computer program) It takes a program file, and allows the user to do something with it that has something to do with the name [TBEXE] (if that makes any sense haha)
-
Um, it converts in .exe?
Oh well, welcome here! :D
-
@Juju, thanks! And indeed it does! With TBEXE, I'm going to attempt to allow people to convert their 8XPs into executable programs. They won't be simple console programs, those are boring. I'm going to try to allow for full WinForms programs!
So far I've only gotten then (de)tokenizing of 8XPs done so far though :\
-
Sounds like awesomesauce!
I can not wait.
-
Yep, sounds pretty awesome. Can't wait how it's going :)
Feel free to post a thread about that.
-
Hello, I hope you enjoy your stay here ;)
Feel free to post a thread for your project in either "Other calc related projects and ideas" or "computer projects" (though not both). Sounds interesting, can't wait to see some specs.
-
Yeah, I'll make a thread for it when it's nearing public alpha testing. It's not even 50% done right now lol
-
BlakPilar! Hey! I remember you from TIBD. :) (Either you were there back when I was active, or I remember you from when I check TIBD every so often.)
It's great to see you on Omnimaga. I hope you have a great time here; it's an awesome site. ;D
-
Reimplementing the parser is not for the faint of heart. The parser pretty much exposes the entire functionality of the EOS.
-
@ztrumpet, Hola! I remember reading some posts by you back on there! I might have joined when you started to get less active because I faintly remember you posting roundabouts when I started. But good to see you! I've heard lots of great things about Omnimaga, which is why I made the switch! :D
@DrDnar, Don't worry about lil' ol' me. I spent nearly a month alone on the 8xp file format so that I absolutely knew what I was doing, and I spent about 2 months contemplating how I was going to implement certain things (I still am). Thanks for the concern though!

That's cool -- is it going to emulate assembly programs or is it going to emulate Basic?
How are you going to map the keys?
-
Hey BlakPilar, Welcome!
I'm mostly on the irc, so catch me there.
Good luck with the programming. Hope you have the best time here!
Ti-Programmer (Ti-PrgmR)
ps: if u need an IRC client, i suggest xchat. And I'm a basic programmer (.net & and a little c++), too.
Edit:
When you finish TBEXE, can i have a copy of the source. I would love to try to port it to linux, as I am a big linux poweruser.
-
Yeah that would be fun to make it work on Linux :) I'm a big Linux poweruser as well.
-
Oh wow, sorry guys! Didn't see that there were actually more replies to this lol. Um, here's the forum link (http://ourl.ca/12128) I made for TBEXE. Just read the description, if you have any further questions, etc. post them there.
Thanks for the interest! :)
--EDIT--
@Michael_Lee, well, there will be no direct emulation (such as Wabbit) in the at least the first major release. Go to my the forum post I linked up there ^^, I believe I explain that somewhere in there.
@Ti-Programmer, it's going to be completely open-source! :D The only thing I'd think would be iffy about on your porting is the WinForms designer because that's heavily .NET based. (Unless Mono supports what it needs >.>)
-
Hi and welcome to the forums. Sorry for late response (although we did talk a bit on IRC). You were a grear contributor on TI-BD and even helped making it more active than the last 1.5 year or so. I hope you enjoy your stay here too :D
-
Fwahaha... um, hi! Welcome here to the wonderful world of.... OMNIMAGA! And yes, here you will get quick responses often XD
-
@DJ_O, nice of you to finally drop by :P lol, jk. But thanks, and so far I'm really liking Omnimaga!
@Xeda, Hiya! And yeah, I've found that out haha. I look forward to updates on BatLib and whatnot :D
-
Hey, so, the "Band of the week!" thing in your sig is awesome. :D I really like the concept of showcasing a band in your sig each week. ;D

Thanks! :D I like to promote bands, especially the ones who are just starting up. I think I might add links to get their EPs/CDs that they offer for free. (Links to paid ones too to help support them lol)
