Title: better late than never
Post by: TheCoder1998 on March 27, 2014, 12:38:14 pm
i've been on omni for a while now, and i've never actually introduced myself

so, three years ago, i got my first graphing calculator, the ti83 (not plus)
at first, i thought it was a handheld, so i was kinda suprised that i couldn't play games on it from the get go.
so i looked up the manual on the internet and i found out that you could code on it

and that's when the programming spark happened...

a few months later, i sold it, and with the money i bought a ti83+
but that one broke, so my parents got me a ti84+se, which i still own as of today

the programming languages i know are BASIC, and a little AXE

my other hobbies and interests are video games (gamecube FTW), and rubiks cubes (i know how to solve a 3x3x3, a 2x2x2 and a 2x2x4 respectively)

so that's me

Also, cubing yay! :D cuboids are fun but seriously learn the 7x7 it's a fun one. Megaminx is too.

I need to get Super Mario Sunshine eventually. Is it as good or better than Super Mario 64 and Galaxy?

It's easily the worst of the three. It's basically Super Mario 64 with the Fludd accessory as the game's gimmick.

The GameCube if the best console of its generation IMO. I'm currently in the process of hacking mine for homebrew. :D

Either with Datel's SDML or with a modchip. See http://gc-forever.com for info.

Ok thanks. I was wondering since I sometimes see it for $50 at game stores and wasn't sure if spending $50 on it was justified.

Spending more than $10 on any retro game is ridiculous anyway.

Not if you are into retro gaming collecting games, but of course most people who say it's ridiculous are kids who never held a NES gamepad in their lives and grew up with Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Minecraft. After all, there are many games that suck today that are way more expensive than that.

That's right. But the retro games are old, so they shouldn't sell for that much. Maybe $15-20 is a more reasonable limit to put to yourself. Also I'm not that kind of guy. I just don't have the money.

Other games have this effect but strangely this one doesn't for me.

Yeah it's mainly an offer vs demand issue. Most true retro gamers will want to play the old school way, with the original game and console. Some don't even want the NES/SNES clones like the Retron or FC Twin. However, since those games are discontinued in their cartridge form, they get quite pricey if they are in high demand like Final Fantasy III or if they were originally produced in very small quantities (Hagane, for example, was a Blockbuster exclusive for rental, so very few copies were made, so now it sells for $400).
