Title: Lego Atlas (Detector from LHC): Support this thing!!!
Post by: pimathbrainiac on June 17, 2013, 11:13:02 pm

I saw this on FB and I had to share. It's an official LEGO model of the Atlas Detector (part of the LHC)

It needs 10000 supports on the LEGO CUUSOO to be put into production

/me wants REALLY badly

The Large Hadron Collider is that epic PROTON collider crazy scientist use to make fireworks and study them. :P
And it's so freakin' awesome you can't even test it's power (that's the reason I put when upvoting). :D

IT'S OVER 9000!!!
now with that out of the way, I would love this, and since everyone at my workplace are physicists, I'm sure they will support this too.

Checked this and it gets my support. Of course to buy it it would have to not be too expensive in my case, though. LEGO's tend to be quite expensive.

it's funny because even though they don't have a patent anymore they still sell the most as it requires too much presition, nobody managed to redo it yet.

I think I saw a way bigger version... Like it was 20% more awesome than this thing.

Both that and the smaller one were built by the same person. The bigger one isn't being offered as a kit though.

Wow, I wish the large one was made as a lego set! O.O

But I bet that LEGO would charge $800 for it. Just for a 500 pieces set they charge up to $80 sometimes...

Wasn't the death star lego set already like $1000?

This thing got enough supporters! http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/21619
Now it only has to go through LEGO-people so that they will produce it :)

I just saw this and I'm glad this got enough supporters. I wonder if LEGO has been contacted and if they replied so far?
