Possible ninth planet?

<< < (2/3) > >>

Keoni29:
I believe there was speculation about a planet X about 10 years ago. I wrote an essay about it in elementary school :P

harold:
This was also how Vulcan was not discovered, but that shouldn't affect a planet way out there much.

This planet is "only" theorized due to anomalies in Neptunes orbit. Apparently Neptune was discovered similarily, due to anormalies in Uranus' orbit.

What do you guys think?

This was also how Pluto was discovered (because Neptune's orbit was itself suggested another planet)... and it was called "Planet X" originally.

"Planet X" is a generic name for a new planet—I'm sure they'll give it a clever Roman god name eventually.

c4ooo:
I think they sould give it a greek name >:D

Dudeman313:
An outlier in the solar system! I like it! But the fact that no one has ever seen the planet is very exciting. What if It happens to be a far out terrestial, surrounded eternally by a thick, enormous gas atmosphere, while secretly harboring alien life. Hey, this is a great idea for an RPG storyline!
