anyone else having problems with experiance thing? I got a full bar and it reset giving me no exp.

No, but I mean there are bugs in 1.8 but I like it like once it crashed to desktop with no error message

I dislike that Notch removed the ability to toggle the fog distance with a simple keypress :(

I think the best change is the new map generator, the landscape seems much more natural,
with the exception of some glitched chunks, straight cliffs, lots of flying rock... etc. But I guess for a pre-relase it's only normal.
And I do every bet that there is a memory leak.

Yes, the endermen are in the leak, but they are still buggy and ender pearls don't currently do anything

endermen is the new mob that looks at you if you point the curser at it, and pursues and kills you if you take a curser off of it.

They are REALLY CREEPY. I saw one, but I was in creative mode so it didn't kill me. But it was really awesome. Can't wait for Monday! (the actual release date).

I couldn't agree more. I don't play Minecraft, but the "Adventure Mode/Creative Mode" seems brilliant to me.

Yep. You can choose between Adventure and Creative when creating a new world (or by editing the world file, if you know how to do it).

Yes, monsters, caves, rivers, villages with NPC's, achievements, etc.

Has anyone else found an abandoned mineshaft yet? I found a huge system, complete with abandoned chests. I really like the new rivers and ravines. I spawned near the ocean, so I swam to an island and made it my home. Nothing can get at me now!

In my experience they are easier to find than villages lol.

My method of finding mineshafts is as follows:
Find ravine.
Fall.
Get mad.
Change to peaceful while exploring deep cave. :)
Look for random planks.
Follow.
Find chest.
*profit*
Fall in lava and lose it all.
On the first day I found a village and "borrowed" some wheat...
Really. I replanted it later.

I literally found an enderman in a cave ~20 blocks away from my spawn. Oops.

I haven't actually found any oceans at all yet! Lots of super deep lakes tho! And ravines.
Has anyone tried creative mode? It's AWESOME! just double tap space to see one of the reasons why.

Monsters who can move blocks! And they kill you fast.

Problem with creative: Redstone stuff that uses buttons doesn't work. The buttons just break.

Holy moly!!! move blocks :O :O :O it is truly terrifying it can move my house' walls...although i do live in the sky <.<

Also you can check first post to get it. Just put the downloaded file in %AppData%\Roaming\.minecraft\bin (for Windows) or ~/.minecraft/bin (for Linux) and launch the launcher.

Also, notch gave out a link from minecraft.net, it was something under media.minecraft.net.
It also had the server jar.

My only complaints are that the fog key got removed and you can't hold right click to continuously place blocks. Endermen are creepier than creepers.

I can't find any silverfish, but the cave spiders are pretty bad.

Npc in villages are only for 1.9 I believe to have read.

BTW it appears there's a new version of the 1.8 jar, with some bugfixes.

Nope, notch said this is only the first half of the adventure update.
Funnything: at home, It runs slow (normal :P) but never crashes. At school, it runs awesome (normal, Xeon 8-cores rock) but runs out of mem every 5 minutes.... no slowdown, just suddenly savequits.
BTW, It's officially out now, so no install worries.
