Title: DaEpicPimathPiano
Post by: pimathbrainiac on April 29, 2013, 01:29:20 pm
With all this talk about a potential trio piece for Dapiano, epic7, and myself, I decided to start a trio piece for us!

Here is a wav of what I have so far (yes, it ends on a long note so it has an ending): https://www.dropbox.com/s/te175aoo61qf3gl/DaEpicPimathPiano.wav

I'll post a score once it is uploaded to Dropbox!

We can all write our own versions.
I'm thinking of just writing a huge medley of DJ_O's stuff.

I must ask: will someone take up one of the piano parts? or do I have to make it a duet now that Dapianokid is almost entirely cut off.

I think you ripped a midi file from the internet and used fruityloops studio. I can tell because you simply replaced every channel with a piano sound including the drums.

I did not...

You tell me I plagiarize, and I am very offended, I have several other original compositions on youtube. I have artistic integrity, thank you very much.

I did not use drums. I used block chords on the 1st piano part, which gets the melody later.

I used musescore, not FL, as you can tell by the dropbox link I posted that ends in .mscz.

Pimath, thanks for sharing!  This is a cool piece!  And I like your style :)

I think you ripped a midi file from the internet and used fruityloops studio. I can tell because you simply replaced every channel with a piano sound including the drums.

You don't have any proof.  But whether you do or not, this is not youtube.  Leave that kind of thing out of Omnimaga.

Whatever the case, I've been playing piano and writing music for 13 years, and my major in college was in music composition.  It's quite common to use the piano as a percussion instrument, so there is no reason to believe that this is not his own work.

Well I apologise for what I said. Whenever someone does rip a midi file however it sounds very similar to this. Try using some different instruments and less counter meledies because this sounds overcomposed. Less is more :)

Thanks for the apology, Keoni.

I, personally, prefer musical complexity and counter-melodies over simple harmonies, which is why it sounds the way it does.

I'm working on adding some more. stay tuned

Musical complexity is great if well executed. Everything blends together into a big mess of piano sounds. Especially the low tones.
This piece of mine is complex and has lots of counter melodies:

Thanks for the support. I hope you can get to the point where you can get this whole thing turned around so we can play this trio.
