Title: Firestorm 2015 (yep, a new remix!)
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on October 10, 2014, 09:11:21 pm

When listening to my old DJ mix called hardcore armageddon a few days ago, I got inspiration to do a new remix of my old song Firestorm. This is the 4th remix of it and the 2nd UK hardcore version. It tries to remain true to the original, while incorporating my new UK hardcore styles.

I hope you like :)

Hmm very nice, seems to have shifted to another key as well. I like how your remixes show great variety with the same melody. This one's more light and airy.

Thanks, and yeah this version is 1 key lower than the others. I thought it sounded better in this version :)

I think I liked the original the most. Though I like the extra melody in the Eurodance version, and the UK 2007 version was pretty epic (I especially liked the beginning of that one)

Glad to hear you liked those too. And yeah for the 2007 hardcore remix I wanted to stick to the style of UK hardcore that prevailed around 2004-06 with the piano. The issue though is that the song is too long, which is why the Hardcore Armageddon DJ mix only used the last segment.

I actually like how the song is about 8 minutes, I used it to time how much time I had left to get to work while cycling there because the trip was about 8 minutes :P

You really need some 90's europop vocals to go with this!

Personally I found it a bit repetitive for its length. So either another theme to round out the 8 min or to make it shorter would have been perfect.
But, anyways, Land of Hopelessness is an example of where I was captivated for the almost 10 min length because of the variety in the melodies and themes.

I think they would fit better in the eurodance version actually, with some rapping during the verses and a women signing during the chorus parts. :P

yeah the issue is that back in 2007, I still had troubles making some songs long enough from time to time so I kinda went overkill on that one, at the cost of making it more repetitive. If I was to come back on this song and redo it, I would have omitted the 3rd section and only kept the 3 others, while also shortening the last one
