Here is my newest song: La Porte du Soleil. This song is special in some ways: I got the idea in my head back in Early 2001, when I was drawing a comic-based dice-pen RPG of the same name as the song. I imagined what could be the theme song if that D&D-style game comic ever made it into a video game format. However, back then I did not have any software to compose music, and with the years I forgot about the song. In 2011, I started having memories of the idea again, after checking back my old comic books again, and eventually decided to make the song. The difference, however, is that now it's kinda like power metal rather than my original '80s style idea. However, the entire melody until the keyboard solo starts has been in my head for a decade.

In summary, here is a new song from me, that stayed in my head for over a decade before finally making it to a music software.
The style might remind you of Quest for the Legendary Axe, which was used for the Axe Tribute video. The title "La Porte du Soleil" means The Gate of the Sun in English. I kept the name in French because the original story it was gonna be used as intro for was a French game.

MUCH BETTER QUALITY DOWNLOAD (320k) BELOW (128K really ruined it, above X.X)

Pretty epic song DJ :D

Thanks. It was about time I get the idea into a music software. The only other song idea I kept in my head for more than 5 years was Chaos Inside Me and Neo Trance Remix, and LPdS stayed in my head for 11 years x.x.
-
Pretty nice. ^^ I just can't believe it was waiting 11 years to be released! O.O
-
Yeah it's really crazy. It didn't help that from the time I got my first copy of MTVMG in 2002 until 2011 I never got around making it.
Also, because I had the idea in head for so long and because I used some stuff from Quest for the Legendary Axe then modified them, this new song only took like 7 hours to make.
EDIT: Video made! Check first post. It uses pics from the comic book.

This song is pretty cool, as most of yours DJ :) I'm on 1:11 and enjoying a lot!

Thanks. ^^
Also who stickied this topic? ???

Wow, this song is awesome, DJ! O.O. This is really enjoyable to listen to, and I think that when I have access to my computer in the morning, I'll put it on my iPod to listen to from now on, like I did with many of your songs :) and on a side note, those drawing aren't nearly as bad as you made them out to be when we talked, they actually look pretty sweet as well :D when you explained them earlier, I was expecting like crap stick figures or something <_<
-
Yeah I just meant that compared to a lot of stuff I saw here, my drawings are generally much less detailed. I sucked at drawing persons X.x

Well, fine, I agree that the humans sucked, but the monster you made to look cartoony I assume and they actually look very well done.

I love this song! It's like Quest for the Legendary Axe mixed with awesomesauce, with a smattering of Ys for good measure.
-
Yeah, the drawings are not bad at all.
And made that song my ringtone, it's too awesomesauce :P
-
Thanks :D

This song is not in OmniPlayer it, I'd love to have it there as I really like it.
DJ, nice to know you're still making music and I want to hear more from you :D
-
Hopefully I'll start regaining inspiration and motivation to make some more songs. :)

It's already on the radio :)

I think he meant omnimaga.org/radio
Btw that thing will have to be moved elsewhere since I'm not planning to keep it on AspirationHosting.

I'm kinda necroposting here (sorry!) but this currently I think is my favourite song out of all of them (along with the '80s remix). The melody is so versatile, it really shows. And its not too complex either. Keeping the song title in French is something special as it does actually sound French to a certain extent, and is also currently the only song title in French. I loooooooove it!
-
Thanks and glad you like it. And yeah the French title was because it was taken from the title of the comic book I wrote back in 2000-01. However after listening to it, I noticed that some parts, especially the second part of verses, like when it shows that guy in a violet/purple suit, sounds kinda like French music, due to the instrument used for the main melody. It sounds even more French near the end when that part plays one pitch higher.

The French Title Makes it special. Hope you make more French Song Titles in the future!
And continue with the great melody lines! They are awesome!
