Title: My First Solo
Post by: ruler501 on March 11, 2011, 10:18:27 pm
this is a solo I wrote for Tenor Saxophone(the instrument i play). I will have a version of it with me actually playing it later. this is the first solo I have written completely on my own. I use portable MuseScore for writing Music. PM me if you want the sheet music. I believe i can transpose it to any instrument i have the XML file for(most instruments).
Well comments suggestions please I hope I did all right with this. I was not sure how to end it though

EDIT: Link to audio of it soon. What are good audio upload sites
EDIT2: Here is a link to it on zShare. solo in B Flat.wav - 6.90MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/87682424ac280c83/)

Your site doesn't work. It gives me a link to a Win ipod page and no download appear, same for play. For audio sharing I recommend Mediafire. Otherwise there's Megaupload, but there's a waiting time to download.

EDIT: Nvm I was clicking the wrong download link. however that site sucks because i had to go through like 4 download links until getting to the actual file.

As for the song it's not too bad, although I would probably reduce the reverb a bit, since some notes seems to clash between each others. I can't judge much, though, since this isn't my style.

That is one reason I was asking for what is good sites. Should I move it to Megaupload?

What reverb? This is the sheet music for it. It might just be a audio issue with the program I have synthesizing it

EDIT: I will reattach the PDF for the Tenor Sax version later once i take out any personal information i added

Ah maybe, yeah I noticed the sounds seemed to last quite a while. Not sure if it'S reverb or something else. Does your software let you change ADSR values for notes?

No It just lets me save the sheet music as a wav. I'll see if there are any better free software I can use.
Its XMuseScore if you want to find out more about it

Ah ok. I personally use MTV Music Generator for Playstation 1 but recording music from this, even through an emulator, is a major PITA, especially on newer computers.

The sheet music looks cool.  I may have a chance to record myself playing this on the trumpet, but no promises. ;)

I'll upload it for trumpet in a sec

EDIT: It is really low. My music software is currently messed up so it might take me a while to get a good PDF version

EDIT2: Never mind good screen capture always works. Attached it now. It is for a B Flat trumpet.
