Well, I haven't listened to it, but I think it would be a lot better if it was 1337kb instead of 1338kb D:

It's not 1337 yet because it's not finsihed :D

Yeah, I listened to it. Just didn't like that you name it The Blue One. You shouldn't lie about TBO.

A few weeks ago I started working on a new song intro then over a week ago I did half of the song after I got new ideas. However my health lately is playing me tricks, which kinda hurt my will to work on anything (or post on forums) most of the time, so progress stalled since then. Here's what I got so far, though. This song is inspired a lot from The Winged Horse by Gamma Ray. Not sure when it will be finished. X.x

I actually made Juju hear it when we were at a hockey game over a week ago.

Currently I'm working on this attachment below. It was supposed to be a song that sounds more heavy-metal-ish at first, because of the guitar and the intro melody, but for odd reasons it eventually turned into some sort of Christmas power metal song, to finally turn into regular electronic-ish power metal.

Thanks. Also this isn't really the beginning of the song, although that part I posted sounds similar to the beginning. I posted that one since it includes the chorus at the end. Actually the guitar in general reminds me of some Saitama Saisyu Heiki music, the slow part reminds me of Stratovarius - Wings of Tomorrow and the chorus reminds me of A New World to Discover. THe part before the chorus is the chorus backwards :P

No sample (although juju heard one) and may not be finished, but in case they are:

-Star Knight 2012 (most likely Tales of the Star Knight)
-Apocalypse 2012
-Quest for the Legendary Axe 2012

Would be the stuff that has been in the works for a while. All 3 are in the same style as the TotKotM album, but the first two songs will be shorter and most likely have a new name.

My first song-thing in Hydrogen Drum Machine! (it's kinda awful tho :P but it's my first and not even finished yet)
The clap is really overpowering, so I think I might take it out.

Also it's taking really long for a post to actually post (sometimes it never does). Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Jason's Melody No.5 (Debontu) was completed a few days ago for me. Well not completely as it may be better to make some minor modifications. Currently Melodies 1,2,3,5,6,7 are done, and 9/10 are half done (I skipped some numbers accidentally :P). No.4 in doubt.
All of these were created in Finale with Garritan Instruments, Piano Solos. I am seeing if I can increase the overall volume of the audio files.
I started on a MTVMG (PC) song a week ago, stilll have not completed.

Yeah, such as Enter the dream world and Dreamland, along with Metal of time and magic hardcore

@Yeong sounds nice. Btw you should add a guitar bass and maybe faster beat to make a version similar to Albion style.

UPDATE: trancimaga 2012 ready to upload once I get my comp back.

Why are we making Yeong's music "conform" to someone else's style?
Also @DJ_O Nice for completing Trancimaga 2012!

Are you planning at any stage to remaster or create a remix for some of your Tape recording songs?

I wasn't trying to make him conform to someone else's style, I was just saying it would be nice if him or someone else did a cover of his song that sounds kinda like Albion. Also I think it's much better than telling people to conform to styles in the charts/radio anyway. :P

Btw Spyro could you post a MP3 of your song? It's massive in WAV format! O.O

Bump:

One of my current song in the works:

http://djomni.julosoft.net/diediedie.mp3

This one has a bit of influence from thrash metal, so while it's still melodical and featuring choir pads, some parts might be a bit "harsher" than the stuff on TotKotM album and AKoO. Of course the song is subject to change a bit as it gets worked on, and the intro + second half are missing.

The is the most recent version of the song I'm writing(the most recent that is on this computer):
http://www.mediafire.com/?w5ul9luki154374 (http://www.mediafire.com/?w5ul9luki154374)

It doesn't really have a name yet. The part where it only plays the low part is when the words are supposed to be. It's going to be a brony type song(it says, "nopony"). Other than that, if you've heard the brony song, "Awoken", the story is a little similar(kinda sad/depressing).

Found a orchestral arrangement of The Warrior Says Goodbye (by DJ_O) that I started a while ago.

I guess I'll finish sometime, because why not :P

Wow I listened to this earlier when you posted it on IRC and I like how it sounds in that form. Also if the end was cutoff a little bit it could almost be put into a loop or something for an RPG.

I wonder if the software you use lets you change reverb settings so for example you have echo style reverb? That would kinda be cool if you wanted to mimic SNES reverb (like I did in this song: http://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/mysterious-island )

With February in its infancy, I've started work on my contribution for RPM Challenge 2013 (http://rpmchallenge.com/). First track is a remix of a track I did last year (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBZp0_2MYb8).

Unfortunately, I can't seem to record since my computer has literally forgotten how to record from Stereo Mix. It was able to, but now it just refuses. I've done everything that the Internet suggests, and it's not having any of it.

I had this problem right from the start actually, it didn't stop working, it just didn't ever work. But then I tried my 2nd audio jack (have one behind the computer and one in front)  then I managed to get stereo mix to work. However, I hate it because there is always static noise in the background and it changes to different sound when something loads, like if there was interferences coming from the computer. (Thankfully the noise isn't recorded with stereo mix).

Also the trick to plug a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable into your audio jack and mic port doesn't work it seems. I just heard random noises.

What I'm trying to do now is record it as a video through Fraps, but even that's not working properly. Maybe it's because I'm using a newer version of ePSXe (1.8 instead of 1.6)1, but Fraps isn't recognising it as a recordable program. Any other OpenGL program it'll recognise fine (like it'll give me the FPS counter in Minecraft and I can easily record from that), but ePSXe; it ain't having any of it.

1(because my computer is also not working with my controller properly, although it might be because I've got it plugged in the back USB ports instead of the front ones even though that shouldn't make a difference? I tell you, using a SIXAXIS controller was so much easier in XP than it is in 7)
Title: Re: Whatcha Making, guys?
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on February 04, 2013, 05:41:48 pm
Yeah I had to use Fraps while I had the stereo mix problem. The issue, however, is that early on, VirtualDub did not open Fraps vids and I needed it to convert them to WAV. My other alternative, Koyotesoft video converter (which you should avoid at all cost because new versions got viruses built-in, unlike old ones), only allowed me to convert audio to 256kbps MP3, not even 320K. Later, VirtualDub started opening Fraps vids fine, but recording from ePSXe is a chore when using videos because the song skips every minute or so, while with Audacity stereo mix, it usually skips once through the entire song if it's a long one.

As for Fraps, in Windows 7 there used to be an option to monitor aero desktop which let me record from anything I want, but for odd reasons, it stopped working entirely all of a sudden.
Title: Re: Whatcha Making, guys?
Post by: Not a Number on February 05, 2013, 09:26:18 am
I think I found the problem. In neither version of ePSXe that I have (1.6 and 1.8) do I have the OpenGL driver; and since Fraps only records from OpenGL programs, that's the reason why it's not recording.

--inpost edit--

Tried it out, and Fraps does indeed record ePSXe when the OpenGL Drivers are put into the Patches folder (Easily Googleable), but when Fraps goes to record, the emulator slows down a ton. What was once a 130BPM song turns to a 13BPM song :P

--edit 2--

Fixed it: Now using an OpenGL2 Driver instead of an OpenGL1. Just let Fraps Record at the same framerate as your emulator (for me it's 50fps since I use the PAL version of MTVMG1 - is it 60fps in the NTSC version?) Only problem is that since it records to AVI, the filesizes can get huge - I'm having to convert it to an MP4 (for YouTube), WAV (for Bandcamp) and MP3 (for hosting).
Title: Re: Whatcha Making, guys?
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on February 05, 2013, 01:10:49 pm
Something I noticed with ePSXe is that when you record with Fraps, the emulator speed changes to the same as setup in Fraps. So if you want to record a song, you have to set Fraps to 60 FPS. Else, if you record, for example, at 30 FPS, the emulator plays at half speed. (Note, over here 60 FPS is NTSC. Also screen size is different for TVs so Music 2000 in North America shows fewer sound channels at once on the screen)

Yeah, that was precisely the reason why when I tried recording earlier, the song slowed down immensely, but not slowing down that the samples were jittery, just that the song played at the slower tempo as if you were the one that turned it down like that.

It is a bit of a pain for me since I work at 30fps, which 50 (the PAL version, and the rate I have to record at) doesn't go in to. One of my tutors (who worked in doing sound for TV before working here) said I should be working at 25, which I suppose makes sense for two reasons: For one, it's what all television programmes here in the UK are aired at (even though movies are filmed at 24fps and from what I've read, NTSC shows are filmed at 29.97fps); not to mention, 25 goes into 50 exactly. That being said, I would still have to convert the video to its new framerate anyway, so I might as well stick with working at 30. tl;dr: framerates lols

Yeah that's annoying x.x. The best trick is to use an actual copy of Music 2000 on a real playstation and either a capture card or DVD recorder (a VCR can work too if you got new VHS tapes and record in SP mode), but the program crashes sometimes so it's nice on emulators to have savestates. Also if you have a PS2, sometimes the program takes a long while to load samples.

I began messing up with Vocaloid during my free time when I'm not working on something else... I told some people I should cover some brony songs using that software.

Here's a little demo made kinda quick using a midi file. (And yeah you will recognize Eurobeat Brony.)
Title: Re: Whatcha Making, guys?

Did you make the voice in MIDI format or do you mean music? And sadly I don't recognize Eurobeat Brony but I didn't listen to all of it (only the main MLP theme remix)
Title: Re: Whatcha Making, guys?
Post by: Juju on February 07, 2013, 01:47:20 am
I mean, I imported a midi into Vocaloid and made vocals starting from that. (Which are all A's right now. Actually I think I imported the wrong track. That was a test anyway.)

Original song: Eurobeat Brony - Luna
