Title: OSes that support Ndless
Post by: Sebasu on May 05, 2011, 12:39:33 am
Well, TI had removed all OSes that support Ndless from its server
but I have the OS files of the TI-Nspire CAS and i would like to share this with the community ;)
version 1.7.2741 to 2.1.0.631 are available here:
[Link removed.]
And if somebody want to probe the 3.0.1.1753 version, i uploaded the file in the same link
but take care and use TNOC to delete the boot2.img file and be able to downgrade de OS later
The Versión 2.1.1.38 of the OS is present now on the TI web, if somebody can probe if Ndless is still working with this OS or if any modificatión was made on it would be great
I hope this will be useful, good bye

How legal is that? O.O Also, OS 2.0.1 is also supported.

Either way, I hope this can help people.

Please don't post links to Nspire OSes unless they're hosted on the TI site itself:

2) Not provide links to copies of those files, either in public or PM, unless they are directly hosted somewhere on TI website (which I doubt). Either tell the member who requests them to search for them himself or find a different way to provide him the links.

If you want OSes compatible with Ndless, a list of them (all hosted by TI) is available here (http://ourl.ca/7373).

How legal is that?

Pretty illegal. It's a blatant violation of intellectual property laws to distribute TI-OS without TI's express and written permission to do so. They'd have no trouble getting an American court (Omnimaga is hosted in America, so I believe it's subject to American copyright laws) to fine Omni for allowing those links if they wanted to.

Yeah I think laws are more lax in France, as sites there hosted calc OSes for over a decade, although TI asked one of them to remove Nspire OS 1.1 once (they did not ask them to remove the 20-30 other OSes on their site).

The laws aren't really more lax, maybe it's more difficult for TI to use legal proceedings abroad.

Ah ok. I know TI-BANK hosts some of their files and only had problems with OS 1.1, but over here on english websites we just do a little thing like posting the RSA keys and they pull a DMCA on us. One thing I would worry is if instead of sending a DMCA to me directly they would send it to my host instead, and my host was scared and shutted the site down.
