Since Omnimaga is turning a decade old on September 1st 2011, I decided to make a tribute video showcasing almost every game released by the Omnimaga Coders of Tomorrow team since September 1st 2001. Every year since 2006, a tribute video was made, but usually only featured a few games from various years or only the stuff from the past year. This new one isn't as quality as the last year one, but I guess it adds to the nostalgia. :P
I decided to not make a new song for this video, because I wanted to use the song "I'm Still Alive", by Stratovarius, for it. I guess it fits the fact Omnimaga almost disappeared for good in Early 2008.
Anyway, here is it below, and according to Youtube's copyright notification, it is not blocked worldwide, so everyone should be able to watch it!
Note: I was supposed to post this next night, but I did not take any chance due to the possibility that the rests of hurricane Irene knock my power out then.

Great. Watched it all. Real Nice.

-

-
Very good, DJ :D shorter than last year's, but seemed even more well done! I can tell you spent some serious time on this. Some serious time that produced a kick-ass video, of course! ;D
-
Epic. I loved the music, very good choice.
-
That video was really great! Nice job, DJ!
And happy birthday, Omnimaga!

Hey, I don't know anything about calculator programming. I know C++, Objective C, and Adobe AS3 all fairly well... but I am completetly foreign to what you use to code for calculators. In fact, I don't even know what you use to code for it! I really need some help... can someone PM me? I really want to get started with it.
-
Very nice video! Excellent work! :)
Long live Omnimaga!
-
Really nice video DJ_O :D Well done.
-
Thanks guys, glad you like it. :)
@Monkeyyanator unfortunately you need two more posts before you can use the PM system, but you could ask help in the help section as well. It is possible, for example, to program C on the TI-Nspire, so there might be some environment setup tutorials there along with other stuff.

Monkeyanator, try doing that in the introduction or support sections. Please don't go off topic here.
On a happier note, welcome to Omnimaga!

I would probably recommend against asking help in the intro section, though, because some members only frequents the help section.

Wonderful video that is wonderful awesome and wonderfully nostalgic ^^
-
Thanks. Actually nostalgia kicks in the most around the 2006 part for me, because it was the busiest year on the old board and so many games came out then. Seeing all those games again made me think "wow, has it already been this long?". It didn't happen as much with Illusiat and ROL because they reached their popularity peak only in 2009, despite being released between 2001 and 2004, and maybe it's the effects of being the author lol.
One thing I noticed, though, is that Omnimaga team made a shit ton of Minesweeper and Tetris clones. :P
-
I love it
-
On a side note, I wonder if it's bad if the only hybrid-BASIC animated grayscale game in existence is a number guessing game?? O.O
-
Wow. That was an amazing video. It still sometimes amazes me the graphics that can be found on calculators.
[off topic]
On that note, my math teacher went to some workshop where there was a Ti- representative, they said that the most expensive part of the Ti-83/84/+ family was the screen, and that doubling the pixels on them would more than double the price.
[/off topic]
-
Really? How come can we get 1920x1080 LCDs for $99 then? ??? Is it because tiny monochrome screens are too rare nowadays?
-
The main reason it'll double the price is because TI will say "Hey look, we made it cooler! Now let's take a 99% profit margin instead of a 80% on this thing."
-
I thought it was because there was only one engineer left who knew how to make screens that crappy. (http://xkcd.com/768/)
Love the video too. I thought it was very well done.
-
lol ti I mean it could be half price and then be priced right
-
And I like the way color games are coming out at the end ! :)
Is there only one TI 89 game ? ^^
-
Happy birthday, Omnimaga! :w00t:
