Title: A revolution in quadratic gaming, by Ralphdspam
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on May 23, 2011, 01:48:49 am
For many years, number guessing games and quadratic solvers had a very bad reputation in the TI community due to their redundancy and simplicity on ticalc.org. However, thanks to Ralphdspam on the forums, in April he has managed to find an ingenious way to allow a quadratic solver and a number guessing game to stand out from the rest: combining them together (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/436/43674.html)!

From now on, your math classes will never be the same again. The long-ignored number guessers can now be used while you are solving your quadratic formulas. After you entered your quadratic formula parameters, you have to guess a number from 1 to 100 to get your answer! After multiple failed tries, it's game over.

Although it unfortunately lacks grayscale like in the Grayscale Number Guessing Game (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=200) and the Grayscale Quadratic Equation Solver (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/385/38543.html) from 2006, it is still a revolution in quadratic gaming. Could this new idea be eventually applied to other math programs or even games?

While I'm generally against both quadratic solvers, guessing games, and arbitrarily merging things, I do have to say, this does all three of those justice.

It's only major down point is the lack of batteries. Who sells something without batteries these days? :/
Because of that I have to give this 3
:-\ :( :'(
out of
:D :) :-\ :( :'(

So can someone factor x2+5x-7? anyone? *Raises hand. I have the answer, just gotta guess the right number, Nope . Oh gawd. Jeez. So close. Argh! Sorry i lost can't help you. Why not apply this to calculus functions too like nderiv? Now the AP calc test is a real test against the clock, you learn how to guess and about probability, super time management and calculus!

Indubitably! Maybe all programs will have to have this handicap in the future on all standardized tests. That'd be fun hahaha

Well, it was just a brief excursion to memegenerator.net (http://memegenerator.net) ;), and since I couldn't bring myself to work on projects, I had the time :P

lol,  I have to put that for my avatar.

Next April, I promise I will add sound and grayscale.  :P

Also, I would like to thank everyone else for submitting a quadratic solver for April 1st.
