Title: A Second Set of Three!
Post by: apcalc on April 22, 2011, 11:35:32 pm
In previous news (http://ourl.ca/10461) we announced the development of three new Lua games for the Nspire:  15 Puzzle, Block Dude, and 9sweeper.

Now, we have yet another set of three new games!

First, ingalls has posted a demo of his game nFighter (http://ourl.ca/10572/201543)!

Here is a screenshot of it in action:

Secondly, noticing that there were no tunnel games for the Nspire, I whipped up a quick one in Lua (which can be downloaded here, ticalc, or TI-Bank):

Finally, TI-Bank member Spirikoi has released a two player Connect 4 game on TI-Bank (http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=3247)

We wish the above developers good luck in their projects! :)

Now, we will be in need of a third set of three games! :P

This looks nice. For some reasons the Tunnel game seems to flicker a lot, though. ???

Also are you planning to put your new stuff in the downloads section too? (staff section)

I hope people make more games in Lua to show the language potential. (hoping TI won't restrict its access in newer OSes)

It is supposed to do that. :P

The true effect comes when you play in color!  As I said in IRC, I should call it "Psychedelic Tunnel"! :P

I will be releasing a snake game soon. I just want to see if I can add high scores to it.

I think he meant the Student software.

EDIT: Don't try the tunnel game in the student software! O.O It looks like this, but runs about 3.5 times faster! O.O

Wow, Lua does seem to be a nice new avenue for people to program in. So:
Con: 3.0 basically screws up your calc
Pro: We discovered Lua.

Yep, that balances out quit nicely.

That tunnel game should have a warning about seizures.

Like it! I'll try the connect 4 game and maybe make it multilanguage....

Lol yeah the TUnnel game is kinda seizure inducing, especially on the student software, which runs much faster. That said I doubt it will be too bad on a real calc, though, because on my Prizm I recall trying a program once that flashed between colors and it was not too bad.
