April Fools Day
« on: April 01, 2010, 11:56:10 pm »
Ok, so as most of you know, today was April Fools Day. This mean, do not believe every new stories that are posted this day. In our case, two news article was posted on that day, but only one of them was fake. In fact, altough some people might have guessed, the DMCA notice by Texas Instruments regarding the usage of their TI fonts in our Omnimaga logo was fake. We never received a takedown notice from them. Well... I sure hope this never happen for real. But yeah, I guess it fooled a few people. :P

However, the second news article we posted today, regarding a TI-8x emulator for the TI-Nspire and TI-Nspire CAS in the works by Calc84maniac, was real! Yes, you may be surprised since it was posted on April 1st, but the emulator really exists and still sits on my TI-Nspire as for tonight. If you check the previous news article about it, you will see I have replaced the original video (that contained a RickRoll) with a real video showing the emulator in action. When trying it, I also got the chance to try a build of Project M and F-Zero that were included in the 83+ ROM dump. A sub-forum was also added for the project.

In conclusion, the first news was fake, while the second one was real, creating some sort of reverse april fools joke.

So now you know about one of Calc84maniac secret projects!

Internet is not safe in April Fools Day...

This Year it was a different one for me. Instead of listening to radio fake news, I saw fake news in Omnimaga, Wikipedia and Wikinews. I loved the Wikipedia one. ;D

What was it?
News about some Sony employees travelled in time (a joke to a PS3 bug) and the big collision of flies in the hadron particles accelerator.

oh well, at least it's better than Myspace for showcasing my stuff now. Myspace music was nice back in the days but now no one cares anymore. I got like 5000 views there in 3 years and I got 80 songs. On Youtube I got 10000 views for one of my songs in only a year.

I'm sad it isn't, no more STARS! They not only question your ability to read, but to rate, and comments can't have negative thumbs! They wrecked it! >8(

The only malfunction like that a PS3 could do is overheating and cooking all of the burgers and fries in nearby restaurants. :P

really? I know about the no more stars, but I didn't knew we couldn't thumb down comments anymore. The new rating system is still good in the way we can tell if we liked/disliked a vid but it sucks we can't rate it based on quality anymore. I generally gave 5 starts when I loved it, 4 when it was not too bad, 3 when it was good but needed improvement, 2 when it did not impress me and 1 was when the vid was totally pointless and stupid.

Also don't double post, you need to use the edit button when there's not much time between both posts.

Not sure, I think he posted only to be able to use OmnomIRC. He got banned fast from it, too, cuz he was trolling. He was warned on forums too cuz he necroposted (unnecessarly)
