Title: Be careful about Lab Cradle prototypes!
Post by: critor on January 19, 2012, 05:18:02 am
According to Bsl, there are TI-Nspire Lab Cradle prototypes on online stores!

He managed to buy a DVT2 prototype:

Let's have a look at what's inside Bsl's Lab Cradle:

You can easily notice that version builds are older than the one I got on my oldest production Lab Cradle:

Those LabStation prototypes are using developper RSA keys and not production RSA keys. They won't be upgradable with any of the OS available online, which are all production OSes.
So, be very carefull!

Hmm, looks like TI didn't do effort enough to keep them of the market (same with calculator prototypes) :/
But the real question is, does it work :D
If not, does it work with a prototype nspire?

I bought it as a touchpad/cradle combination for a the price of a used touchpad :)
It seems to work fine but I dont have any sensors for it.

Well, nice deal then :)
Maybe you could even try to figure how protocol works :P

CAS+ prototypes and Lab Cradle prototypes, same problem... and to date, no solution, AFAWCT.

Basically do those have to run the same OS as the calc they're hooked to to function?

Apparently not.
My CX (os3.1)detected the prototype cradle and the Vernier software came up immedialely :)
A voltage sensor seems to be the least expensive to get.
