I am pleased to announce that Builderboy and Ztrumpet have both been promoted to administrator position on the forums. While this group is basically the same thing as the rest of the staff, administrators have the additional ability to create sub-forums for staff projects and more in-depth spambot management (the ability to delete an entire spambot post list by deleting his account, while the other staff can only ban them and delete posts manually). Since each staff come at different times of the day, the addition of new admins should make it faster to awnser requests or to edit stuff.

Congratulations to both!
I hope at least one of them will be up @ my european time.

Thank you DJ, I am proud and honored to be an Omnimaga admin, and I will uphold the title with pride :) I am in Californial so maybe ztrumpet will be up at that time?
-
Awesome, a choice you won't regret!
-
Thanks! This is really cool. :) I had no idea DJ was promoting. ;D Thanks, and I'll try to uphold this title to the best of my abilities, and keep Omnimaga as the best calc site out there.
I am proud and honored to be an admin. Thanks for the opportunity! :D
(I'm generally on most between 3 and 6 PM EST, which is the forum standard time. ;D )

Welcome to adminship guys :)
-
Congrats, Builderboy and ztrumpet! You guys are awesome and I know that you guys will be great admins
-
Congradulations guys! You guys definately deserve it.
-
Gratz on becoming admins! ( now 15 more posts before i can harass people thru omnom irc :) )
-
*cough* 45 more posts *cough*
-
Nah 15. It was changed to 20 a few days after OmnomIRC was added. Notice how "TheUnnamed" was able to post as soon as he got 20. It's the arcade that's still at 50. And obviously, 5 posts required to send PMs (spam protection).
-
Ah, I see. My bad.

Keep in mind until maybe tomorrow evening or thursday, OmnomIRC will most likely not work for anyone, though. First, the new post thing broke and I don't know if Netham45 purposely shutted it down or if it just stopped working by itself. Secondly, earlier Netham45 internet went down for half a minute, which caused all his bots to disconnect from #omnimaga IRC channel, meaning the channel is no longer logged (feature needed by OmnomIRC)
Third, from experience, in 2008 and 2009, from May to August, Netham45 usually becomes extremly inactive, to the point where on IRC, he may idle for over a month. This worries me a bit about the reliability of OmnomIRC in long term and I am wondering if somebody else wouldn't be better hosting it (someone with high bandwidth cap per month, preferably more than 100 GB), because whenever it will break, it could take months to get fixed next time. As for now, his sporadic activity alerady started, with him being gone most of thursday and fridays and now for 3 days in a row this week.
Fourth, another worry is that Netham45 lives at a place at huge risks of getting hit by lightning, apparently, and his house got it a few times before, if I recall correctly. 2 years ago he lost a bunch of his servers/computers due to it.

Congratulations to Builderboy and ztrumpet, both are great guys and coders. I hope they can be equally great as admins. Do not get lazy now for coding. :P
Now that Netham45 was posting a bit... It was odd to see a pink nick around but we are or get used to it. Kidding. ;D
I knew some people that played MMO and had Internet access cut by heavy raining (notably some Brazilians). But the house being hit by lightning and get all computers blown seems worse.

IIRC Netham45 was away at his grandmother house when this happened. He came back and the computers were toast, as well as some monitors. The power surge couldn't take it.

Congrats to you two! Good luck with the newly granted Adminship! :)
-
Congratz!

Congrats guys! You guys really deserve it ;D
-
