Title: Contest ends in 10 minutes! (actually extended to 2 AM Eastern Summer Time)
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on July 08, 2012, 12:49:49 am
The programming contest ends in 10 minutes, specifically before 1 AM of Eastern time. Since most people, from experience, submit their entry at the very end of the deadline, I need to remind them a few things:

-Have you sent your entry to the proper e-mail address? Usually, only 99% of the participants do so, which is not enough.
-Have you included an actual file download in your e-mail? Usually, only 95% of the participants do so.
-Have you stated how the game must be ran, on which calc and with which version of the OS, required dependencies and so on? If it requires a non-TNOC'ed Nspire OS 3.0.1, it might be wise to include a $159 paypal donation as well so the one judging it can get a replacement TI-Nspire after getting OS 3.0.1.
-As long as your entry isn't submitted, it is usually discouraged to microwave your calculator and backup mediums for experimental purposes, to see if it will improve your game code. Usually, only 5% of the participants keeps a safe backup.

Good luck!

UPDATE: Due to daylight saving time timezone number confusion, Juju has extended the deadline by an hour. The deadline is now 2 AM EST, Summer Time.

UPDATE2 (Juju): The contest now ended, we got 11 valid entries (5 z80, 6 Nspire), thanks for participating ^_^ Results coming soon!

UPDATE3 (Juju): We still need judges, especially in the Nspire category, if you're interested, contact me as soon as possible. I will contact you with the judging info. Meanwhile, enjoy this file attachment (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=13947.0;attach=13164) :)

It's 90% right now IT'S NOT ENOUGH.
-Have you sent your entry to the proper e-mail address? Check your sent folder to make sure.
Someone sent me his entry in to both the contest and my personal. Just to be sure.
The percentage of people who send a proper readme is usually pretty low.

So yeah, good luck ^_^

You must have forgotten to adjust daylight saving time. During Summer, GMT-5 is basically the equivalent of GMT-4.

So yeah, GMT-4 here. Each year we get confused and say GMT-5 instead of GMT-4.

The contest deadline is now extended to 2:00 AM GMT-4. So be sure everything works and got sent correctly.

Had I been into calcs as much as back in 2002, there would probably be a game pack that includes 3 or 4 Illusiat games as one of the entry made in the two months the contest lasted. :P

ANyway good luck people! Also is there a contest part where we can vote on the entry we find the best?

I should have tested my entry on calc, then I would have noticed how slow it is...
