Should Elfprince13 and KermMartian move to France, this kind of scene (http://cemetech.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=132536#132536) should be possible with a TI-Nspire CX too.
Source: TI-Planet news (http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=1027)
No word yet if in other countries we will also get the TI-Nspire CX cover for free with the calculator, nor if the France-only TI-84 Pocket.Fr will have one included.
UPDATE: After emailing Texas Instruments, they responded by telling me that they have not yet made the decision over whether the slide case will be included with Nspire CX calcs sold in the United States. Likewise, they stated that they would forward my suggestion to the product team. Hopefully, TI will make the right call and include the slide case with this calc! :)

wow, france does get all the good stuff, we need more competitors for TI here in the US too. :P

Oh no...
We don't have the TI-Robot, the TI-Keyboard, or the TI-73.
And accessories aren't sold in shops. (TI-Graph Link USB, TI-Nspire rechargeable battery, color slide case, color keyboard for the TI-84+SE...)
We have to order them online from TI importation shops, and that's quite expensive.
-
Yeah it seems like instead of releasing the 73 in France, TI decided to just re-release the 83 then a few years later the 76.Fr.
By the way did the 76 have MathPrint like the 73?

No. Nothing more than a basic TI-83 OS.
-
Ah ok. I was wondering since it does actually have the Text typing section like the TI-73 had the last time I tried a ROM in WabbitEmu. ???

O.o
Two days not on omni seems like a long time now ...
-
What do you mean? ???
-
That many things happen during 2 days on Omni :P
You're totally lost when you come back ;)
-
Oh ok I guess maybe he means the large amount of news (and posts) lately.
Actually I only check like 20 topics per day so now I have like 5000 unread posts worth of read. O.O
-
Actually, I just realized it was four days.
DJ, the link to TI-Bank goes to the thread on Cemetech.
If the cx is released in france, how come there is no 3.0 os on the french website? What would people do if they deleted/corrupted their os by mistake?
-
I don't think it is released in France yet, TI-France just made the decision to include the slidecase when it is released.

Woops, fixed link. X.x

Aaargh! Why does nothing good get released in the US! j/k
But seriously, Aaargh!
-
When I went to order a cx from Underwood distributing I was told that the slide cover is a separate item and costs $5 extra which to my way of thinking is pretty steep for a five cent piece of plastic so I cancelled my order.
-
Wow, you know you're dealing with TI if a slide case is big news :P

No kidding.
-
Actually, the news might even make people e-mail them suggesting to include the slidecase with the calculator. :P
-
We should. If we email them enough, maybe TI North America will do the same.
The Nspire CX has such a beautiful screen. It needs to be protected :-|
-
Slide Case or TI-Nspire Screen Cling (depending on the configuration purchased)
So the option seems to be either protect just the screen or protect the whole thing.
I can't help but wonder what TI expects to achieve by this...more people seeing the logo or something?
-
Maybe one's cheaper? size can also be a factor.
Edit: We don't have the TI-Robot, the TI-Keyboard, or the TI-73.

I didn't see a single one of those available from stores in the US either, at least not where I live. They have 83+, 84+ and 84+SE, along with 89Ts. Not much else, unless you go online, and the stores do not have accessories.
-
Size difference...I'm wonder how big the screen protector is now :P
I've seen the TI-Keyboard for sale in a college bookstore...that was it other than the normal selection of calcs.
-
Wow I didn't see the screen protector thing. Personally I would rather get a slidecase so I dont accidentally press keys I shouldn't while putting the calc somewhere or something. On my 83+ once I accidentally turned the calc ON and then hit enter without knowing because the slidecase wasn't inserted properly and it launched a basic program which ran during hours, draining my batteries.
-
I'm going to need a slide case.
Where should we email TI to try to get them to include it in North America

What is a TI-Robot?
-
It's a third party thing that puts a few basic hooks in to control a small robot.

-
Wow that seems cool, I don't remember seeing that one before. I only saw the robots by Critor, the one by Timendus and I think Silver Shadow was planning one a while ago.
-
And it doesn't count towards TI loving the English-Speaking, since it was made by someone else. :P
-
I'm confused at what you mean. Could you elaborate? ???
-
Could someone please tell me who I should email to get the TI-Nspire CX with slide case in the US?

We should probably coordinate it to get the effect...
-
OK so we still need to decide on who to send it to.
I wonder how many people would want to help out?
-
What do we need to do to get the slide case?

Pay extra, for now :P
-
Right :banghead:
-
start emails to TI. we just need to coordinate it to make it work

But what do you say? "Bawww I wants slide case" probably isn't gunna work due to the fact that they will save money by selling them separately.
