Today at 00:37:21 EST, our beloved (retired) founder, DJ Omnimaga, just reached the previously impossible milestone of 50000 posts (http://img.removedfromgame.com/imgs/itsover49999.png) (not counting the spam and joke posts that doesn't count), becoming one of the few users of the TI community with KermMartian on Cemetech to reach such a milestone.
In addition, an unusual number of blue lobsters have been seen exploding in the region of Québec City. We believe a Wi-Fi-powered device under the bed of the St. Lawrence River has been set to fire a colony of lobsters when an user reaches a postcount of 50000 on Omnimaga. We're contacting ZAP Québec (http://www.zapquebec.org/english/), a provider of free Wi-Fi hotspots in the region, to identify the culprit.
Anyway, I, on behalf of the past and present Omnimaga team and staff, would like to thank our founder DJ Omnimaga for all his valuable contributions since 2001 (since the foundation of Omnimaga, and 2005, when a forum was added to the site) and we hope he will continue to provide more valuable contributions to the TI, Casio and HP community in the years to come!
Be right back, I'll get the champagne! :D

Actually, squalyl, Nil and Vince on yAronet have 54987, 67732, 108651 posts, respectively. However in the last decade or so, most of their posts have been outside the TI section. :P Godzil and Flanker are also very close to 50K. Note that all of those people have been posting for almost 12 years, though, and their post counts were greatly inflated (perhaps doubled) by participating in every flame war involving Kofler. ;)
That said, Thanks :D
-
Yeah, yAronet is a forum with several sections about everything, not only about TI, so unless you can check the post count for each of the sections, it's kinda hard to tell.
And you're welcome ^_^
-
Yeah it's hard to tell. Of course Omni got several non-calc sections, though, and some people like Eeems are only active in non-calc stuff, so it could have been the same here, but I often post in calc sections here.
-
Congrats :) I think I'll reach 50k in about 2-3 decades unless I managed to make some interesting projects :P I wonder survivors there are of these lobster explosions?

DJ, stop ruining that nice round number with posting. >.>

There's something in the wifi!
/me doesn't know where he is!

Nope, it is 524288 posts (219) :P
Anyways, congrats DJ_O :D
-
At my current posting rate I should have reached 100K in 11 years :P
-
DO NOT POST AGAIN
It is a palindrome now!
-
Not anymore
-
It's fine, it wasn't prime, anyways.
-
What's the next perfect number?
-UPDATE: my super awesome python script is working on it,
-UPDATE 2: it's 2.096.128. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE D:
-
Vijfhoek good luck!
Hey, how would one find the nth perfect number on an Nspire?
-
Generate Mersenne primes and you are good to go. Mersenne primes are of the form 2p-1 where p is prime (but not all prime p will yield a prime number with 2p-1). Then multiply that by 2p-1 and you have a perfect number. There are also some pretty decent prime tests for Mersenne primes.
-
Behold my super duper efficient coding work:
import math
import time
f = open('perfects.txt', 'w')
current_prime = 2
i = 0
done = False
while not done:
if i == 10000: done = True
divider = 2
flag = False
while divider < (current_prime/2 + 1) and not flag:
if current_prime % divider == 0:
flag = True
divider += 1
if not flag:
one = 1 << (current_prime - 1)
two = 1 << current_prime
result = one * (two - 1)
f.write(str(result) + '\n')
i += 1
if i % 100 == 0: print(i)
current_prime += 1
f.flush()
f.close()
Made it for my teacher a while ago in Python

Ha doctor who reference! :D

I have a significantly faster and smarter algorithm for primality tests.. and I would just use Lucas Lehmer tests on Mersenne's :P
I HAD NO IDEA perfect numbers can be generated from mersennes?
-
!peanuts
and congrats DJ :P
-
Congrats on the post milestone! ;D
-
maybe we should add another usergroup for if you have more than 50k posts (one that only dj will be in, lol, level 16 ^^)
-
Yeah DJ changed his userlevel, that would had been LV16. But nobody reached LV14 yet. But DJ.
-
Who cares?
I will :P/me tries to hide his evil regime
-
Lol. Also juju your image link is broken ???
-
To me it's there....

Lol, I am so tired I read that DJ_O had 500K and not 50K -.-°

No! I thought there was no perfect number between 8128 and 33 million something...
-
Cool, I'm still waiting for this:
-
I doubt that will ever happen lol. I'll be too old by then. :P Maybe 100000 but to get 100000 I would need a big forum activity boost (like the insane one in 2010-11) and more free time to help me. :P
In short terms don't expect a major jump to 60K posts for me either, especially that I would like to do some small stuff for the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition (like a simple, but decent Zelda thing :P or smaller games). :P
-
50000 posts? That's insane! Only 49,999 posts until I get there :P
-
At this rate you'll get there in over 9000 years :P
