As you could notice in the past few hours, my nickname changed from blue color to green. This means I am no longer in the administrator user group (altough being account #1, I still got some privileges for now) and am now Coder Of Tomorrow.
I have thought about this for a few weeks and some today events have prompted me to finally take action. For the past two months, I've been busier in real life, especially with my job, yet I still worked on Omnimaga website more than I normally did. On top of that I even started checking other forums and IRC channels more. I also answered an increased amount of requests since the past two months (on a busy day, I can receive around 30 PMs) and started helping people coding, which took a lot of my time. Now I am starting to realize that I am burning myself out by doing this, and it is not good for myself, who am already stressed out by an increase in life issues since April, and it has started to be felt on my mood, which became more unstable than usual and put myself at risks of overeactions on random things.
This is why I decided to temporary move down from admin position to just the Coders Of Tomorrow user group. Until further notice (hopefully when my work vacation starts in mid-July), any requests related to the forums will have to be sent to Eeems, Builderboy or Ztrumpet. I will also no longer accept other kind of requests such as beta-testing, screenshotting and the amount of help I provide on programming will be reduced considerably. I will still post news articles, though. If I do administrator stuff on the forums or answer requests, it will be when I feel like it.
I need to take a break from that stuff so I can spend more time to relax while still being able to participate in the forum discussion (which I enjoy a lot) and possibly work on a game I had in mind.
My apologies if I was rude to people in particular and if I blew things out of proportions in the past few months.
Thank you for understanding.

Ya, by all means take a break, get more sleep, relax, take a break, what ever it takes to just keep yourself healthy, sane, and all other good things.

I was confident you would eventually restore things after yesterday. Have some good rest and everything will be OK, no doubt.
-
It's good that you are taking R&R :)
I would join the group hug, but i lost that ability in my last attempt at world domination XP
-
what does R&R means?
Also on a side note if any admin use the spambot scanner in the CP don't forget to disable it once done, else no new member can join when Stop Forum Spam database is down.
-
R&R stands for Rest and Relaxation
-
Enjoy and rest.
Have you learned your limits from this experience? I hope yes, everyone has its limits, few people would even keep your rhythm in administration of Omnimaga and working for that long.
I calculate I would give up answering PMs and replying in forums. Then I would ask help to other admins until things got less hectic.

So that was YOU interfering with my plans? You should've said earlier, we could've joined forces instead of wasting the each other's efforts. Oh, and sorry for your arms, I was actually planning to do far worse, hope they will grow back someday. ;D
@Kevin: Have some rest and take it easy on you. I'm sure you'll be feeling much better after that.

hey, it's all good! We still support you! And no, you can't take your calc on vacation! Lol!

Yeah I did.
As for activity I still plan to post, just not administrate and stuff (unless of course a spambot arrived and I was the sole admin around to ban it). In fact, all the administrative stuff sometimes made me miss a lot of new posts. Notice how sometimes every two weekend I reply to dozens of topics that haven't got replies for over one week.

It's good to take a minute and slow down sometimes. Seriously, I have no idea how you manage to contribute as much as you do. Take whatever time you need, you deserve a break! :D
-
Thanks for the support

DJ, I've noticed that you post a lot sometimes and much less other times and now I realize why. Everyone knows that you're awesome at helping people, but sometimes they forget (I know I do) that everyone wants an extreme level of help from you. I hope after this "vacation" you'll come back fresh and rested, ready to keep leading Omni towards perfection. Thanks for everything you've done and have a nice time relaxing! :D
-
Thanks. As for now, coding-wise, there might still be some hope, as Builderboy has offered to help. We still are unsure if the project is possible or not, though. I would need to make sure it's fast enough first before going too far :/
-
yeah, I've been thinking about the game idea, and it should be possible, it will just be a little difficult to get the tilemapper working well. That and collision, i will have to run some tests myself so i fully understand the topic.
But yeah, you always need to take care of yourself first :) and not run yourself into the ground

Yeah, taking some well-deserved rest before being too burned out is definitely a good decision :)
