As of today DJ_O has decided to change his moderator role and will now only be posting news and making minor site updates. He will no longer take part in moderating decisions.
His decision to remove himself from moderating responsibilities has been due to an increased feeling of uselessness when it comes to what actions he has taken and from criticism by other members becoming too much. His health is also suffering so give him the best of wishes and lets do our best to fill the shoes that he has left in terms of moderating.

I am sorry, I just couldn't take the complaints about what I do right now, nor ending up with the hate for a moderation action that was decided by more than just me. Now it seems like everything I do here as moderator is wrong and I am pretty much discouraged from performing any such action anymore. Since I feel worth nothing on that front, I decided to call it quit. I will still post news and some stuff, but I no longer need the pressure of participating into site moderation.
I already asked to be removed from IRC moderator 3 months ago, so now it's the site's turn. You guys'll have to report bad stuff to other staff, sorry.
I need to at least salvage what remains of my health and mind and not put myself forum moderation pressure and retaliations on my shoulders. I already am in bad condition mentally and to a lesser extent physically due to past events IRL and it is too late to do anything, but I would at least like to remain around as long as possible.

As for everyone else, please use the "Report to moderator" button if you see something that you think violates the rules (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=2).

Well a lot of ppl helped me, in fact in the past few months most stuff was brought to me by other moderators or they already dealt with most stuff while I was offline. It's just that I myself can no longer sustain the job.

Good luck DJ, I hope you realize though, that you don't hav to feel obligatEd to come back as moderator once things calm down, it'll reduce pressure on you in the long run. You could just post as a regular member. ;). And that way people can't criticize you for any moderating decisions. ;)

I've heard about his health issues, and I hope they get better :( from what I've heard, it's not getting better either. I can only hope you'll get better DJ, and I sincerely say this.
And, I'm sorry to hear about your choice DJ, however I have noticed a bit of criticism towards you lately, and I would've done the same if people were complaining about stuff that I did. I personally though you were doing a great job, but either way, good luck, and I support you all the way.

DJ, I hope stuff works out. You've done an amazing job as moderator, and I think the principles and ideals you have set with this forum are far above and beyond what a lot of other forums have. Good luck to you IRL, and I hope you get better soon.

Thanks everyone for the support. As Ashbad pointed out, though, my situation is not getting better. It has deteriorated over the past 1.5 years and it's kinda too late at this point. The only thing I can do is try to remain active here and find stuff to enjoy for as long as possible, as my site privileges diminishes over time.
I had planned since May 4th to post a topic explaining my situation, because I feel people here need to know what's the matter with me, especially the newer members who never heard about my past history, but it's rare that I feel like devoting effort in writing a very long post about such stuff, which is why it takes so long.

I support your decision, though I hope you don't refrain from taking time off from Omnimaga if need-be and helping your health. I wish you the best of luck, both with your health and with other things irl. :)

Well, when I am inactive despite not being at work, usually it means I am not feeling good enough to post and prefer to not spend energy doing so. The issue though is that times where I feel like posting are rarer now.
Also yet another false accusation came up today :/
I'm still not sure if I want to stay with Omnimaga. I
literally meant that I was considering leaving the community, and that
still is the case now. I'm just tired of all the crap I take from every
forum I visit.
The part in bold, specifically, implying that Omnimaga community is giving him crap, deliberately trying to cause him harm. Afterward you wonder why I even want to bother anymore...

It should never get as bad as your health. I support your decision to take a break (not that you need my permission) and will help you in any way possible should you need it.
As for SirCmpwn, and I'm not supporting his decision here, nor his actions, but remember that he's under quite a bit of stress too. He pretty much doesn't have a home a month from now. So basically, we need to support him, just not when he is disrespectful.
Anyway. Hopefully everyone in the anti-riot squad, Coders of Tomorrow, and Managers can work well together in keeping Omnimaga great!

I wish you luck DJ. knowing where your health has stood before and has been affected by life on this forum its good that you are taking another break.. keep paceing your self do what you can and enjoy life as best as you can. it may be hard and tough but so are you. you have made it this far, the only difference is a break from the responsibility is needed and more than deserved. moderating a forum like this is a big undertaking and you have dutily done so for years. threw bad times and the good ones as well.
Best of luck mate you deserve every last ounce of it ^_^ I hope you can keep the old scars closed and the new ones in check and stay around. life is stress full but at least we all want to support you here ^_^

I hope you get well DJ_O. Never have I seen, anywhere else on the internet, a forum so accepting of other people, especially newer members like myself. I have read a great deal of topics in the forums and well, I am glad to have found a place like this. You are the founder, so I will give most of the credit to you. Creating a place... no a community of people this awesome is an amazing accomplishment. I wish you luck with your problems in real life, and I know I can say this with confidence (even though I'm still a n00b ;) ) everyone here at Omnimaga supports you and thanks you, for all past and future contributions to this website.

Being a moderator is a high stress job and being a moderator when there is so much traffic is an impossibly stressful job that NO ONE can sustain that indefinitely. You are doing the right thing. Stay away from anything stressful for a while and you will surely bounce back. Don't worry, it will all work out because you are reducing the stress which would make any one sick after a sufficient dose. You have done a good job and no one can please everyone. So don't worry about it

It's too sad you had to quit moderating but that was the solution man, you've taken the right decision as always. I don't know who criticized you but as long as I've been here (okay, not so long so far), your work has always been good.
