Title: Doors CSE 8.1 RC1 available for testing
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on July 01, 2014, 09:37:04 pm
Three days ago, KermMartian has released Doors CSE 8.1 RC1, an update to version 8.0 for the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition. Doors CSE is a calculator shell for that calculator model that allows you to run every calculator program, from BASIC to ASM, passing by xLIBC and Celtic2CSE files.

With this update, you can now launch Flash APPs from the menu as well and there are many other additions and bug fixes. Among other features added are new xLIBC commands letting you cicle through the xLIBC color palette, allowing interesting animations in games, for example, and many more command options. It also now supports 160x120 pictures that have 32 colors, where the 32 colors can be a custom palette of your choice. Since this is a release candidate and not a final build, we encourage users to report bugs they might find, if any are left, on Cemetech forums. Unless new bugs are found, this will most likely be the last build release before the official 8.1 build comes out.

This makes me want to own all the models of calcs in the world. Reminds me of TICONNECT mac (is it supposed to be caps?)

And O.O, the graphics

What I am curious about is if Flash APPs could have custom icons in the future.

They will. He currently commented that feature out to make room for the "This is an RC" message as it was just the right amount of space. It will be there in the non release candidate release

Has gotten.
This sounds like DCS dev has stopped.

I think he meant DCSE. SOme people wrongly refers to Doors CSE as Doors CS, which is not the same thing. But yeah, support for Doors CS for the monochrome calcs has been terminated, except maybe if extremely dangerous bugs are ever found.

Actually its more of been "transferred" to me >.> for bug fixes and maintenance. Of which there is still a large amount of work todo just no time for it yet :/  (KermM is still in charge its just code we need to hash out :P)

I take it that no one at Omnimaga has found any bugs in either RC yet? :) DJ_O: They already can have custom icons; that's why that AoE2 app has an Age of Empires icon. The format for this is documented on the DCSE wiki:

I myself didn't so far, but I mostly tested the xLIBC commands so far. And thanks Kerm for the info :)

I can't wait for my work vacations (supposed to be three weeks) so I can hopefully do extra calc stuff. That's assuming, of course, that I don't feel wasted like I have been most weekends in the last two months, though. <_<
