Title: Earlier contest start nulls May's annual activity decrease
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on June 02, 2011, 04:06:38 am
It seems that this year, May was another good month on Omnimaga in activity, despite the usual decrease due to school exams this month. Since October, we consistently pulled between 10000 and 12700 posts per month, with 11169 in May. Currently we are into another 300+ posts day streak, which lasted for 26 days so far. The earlier contest announcment might have contributed a lot to this, as currently there are over a dozen of entries in the works, a lot of which looks promising (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?board=5.0). As you most likely noticed, we also reached 160K posts recently.

Board statistics can be found here (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=stats).

Traffic-wise, there were a total of 4715885 requests on Omnimaga this month excluding OmnomIRC shoutbox. For the first time ever, on the forum and site pages there were over 1 million of hits in a single month! As we currently sit at 39278193 requests served since August 25th 2008, it looks like that we will hit the 50 million mark for either the 3rd anniversary of this incarnation of Omnimaga forums, opened on August 25th 2008, or for the 10th anniversary of Omnimaga itself, founded on September 1st 2001.

We would like to thank all members for their hard work!

Awesome ^_^

Also lots of thanks to DJ_O, without him, this board wouldn't be what it is right now...

Umm, ditto.
Wow, that many.
I forget how not small Omnimaga is, but it feels like I know everybody because of the way this community is.
Wow.

Wow.
I feel like I know everyone, but then I look at the member list and realize I know only a small fraction of them

It's probably a good thing that the contest started a bit early as a lot of people are going/ will be going on vacations throughout the summer. =)

Yeah true, although it was a bit because there are 3 contests, and I did not want all of them to overlap during their entire duration. I guess it helps, though.
