Title: First real HP-Prime prototype HD photo
Post by: critor on May 17, 2013, 08:32:33 am
A fan who wishes to remain anonymous, took the initiative to send us a great gift for you tonight ... ;)

The first HD Photo ever of the new HP-Prime graphing calculator taken at the NCTM conference, a calculator scheduled for back to school 2013!  ;D(http://www.omnimaga.org/Themes/default/images/gpbp_arrow_up.gif)
(http://tiplanet.org/forum/gallery/image.php?mode=medium&album_id=137&image_id=2556) (http://tiplanet.org/forum/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=137&image_id=2556)

The photo is a little blurry unfortunately, but do not forget that HD picture for lovers of high resolutions:

We notice (thank you Adriweb) some important differences as the model name is different: instead of "HP-Prime Graphing Calculator", here we get a "HP Advanced Graphing Calculator " meaning it's probably a prototype.

Well, I probably wasn't the only one noticing the name difference but indeed we all missed it at first, since we were focusing on the rest :P
While it "probably" means it's a prototype, maybe it is actually the final SW/HW in that demo unit (we're not so far away from release), and just the name was different.

Personally, I prefer the silver pad instead of black one... I guess we'll only know when HP sends demo units to the press or when it comes to pre-ordering on some stores that take photos...

Wow, nice, why is hp suddenly going more public with their calcs? Not that it is bad or anything, the prime looks so awesome that I should maybe get one (depending on price)

Maybe they do that because they want a big role in OmniRPG :P

Maybe they realized their marketing was utter crap and they finally decided to market their products properly. Hopefully they spend as much effort in beta testing, unlike the HP 39gII.

The only thing I dislike is the fact that the D-pad is centered. It makes it hard to play games like Mario.

HP makes calc's?  This is guaranteed to be good.   ;)

But that's also the same with the nspire :P

But yeah, I would prefer it to be more to the right/left too :)

Yeah I have the same issue with the Nspire. I always had troubles playing gbc4nspire games because of that. It's even worse on the Clickpad (although Lua games are worse on the Touchpad due to horrible sensitivity)
