Title: Former TIMGUL admin JCW leaves Omni team. Open spots still avaliable in our team
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on March 29, 2010, 03:52:10 am
We are sorry to announce that JCW, who ran The International Music Generator Users Lounge (http://www.mtv-music-generator.com/) from June 2009 to September 2009, then eventually joined Omnimaga team in January 2010, is no longer part of the later. Very active shortly before his hiring and producing high quality drum'n'bass tunes, he had computer troubles for his first month as Omnimaga staff, but when his Internet and PC were fixed, he still remained inactive for the most part, to eventually no longer show up on the forums. We do not know at the time if he was too busy to remain in the team or if he lost interest, but we are still sorry to see him go.

We wish him the best luck in his future endeavors.

As always, we remind our members that we always have open spots in our team. Calculator or computer users who make game-related softwares as well as musicians who want to release their work here are welcome.

Here are the policies to be accepted:
-Have 50 posts
-Have been active posting for at least one month
-Have a good forum/IRC behaviour during that period and no past ban/suspensions longer than 7 days (including the old board).
-Survive 3 Ashley Tisdale rickrolls in a row
-Be involved in at least one of the following:
*Calculator programming (games and utilities)
*Computer programming (Windows games and calculator tools)
*ROM hacking (preferably for console/handled emulators)
*Music creation (preferably your own music, not remixes, as these are not allowed in our download section unless they're remixes of my songs or video game songs)

Once you have met these conditions, your application is then processed and here are the responsibities as Omnimaga staff:
-Remain involved with at least one of the four things above.
-Keep a minimum of 10 posts per month from September to June and 5 from July to August. (posts in Randomness and Intro forums doesn't count)

As Omnimaga staff you get the following:
-A sub-forum for each of your calculator game/utility, PC game/software or ROM hack projects.
-The privilege to add your releases in our products and music download section.
-Global moderator priviledges (in case of mass chaos)
-A pink forum nickname

If you want to apply, please PM me on the forums. Your staff application will be reviewed by the rest of the staff then processed within the next 14 years.

I liked JCW because he also participated in calc discussion sometimes. He was the guy who written words with numbers viewed upside down. :P
Maybe he come back and justify the absence.

The strikes trough lines always make me smile. ;D

Yeah true, I liked that. I don,t understand what you mean by words with numbers upside down, though :O, do you mean using unicode and stuff? I know Genolo on IRC did that sometimes

Personally, I have no real idea of how this JCW guy is. What has he done...?

He was like Speler and Nitacku during their final year as Omnimaga staff: he was pretty much mostly a musician like them, so he would have posted his songs in the download section. Unfortunately, like Nitacku, he became way too busy to remain staff anymore. He has a short but huge history on TIMGUL forum. I ran TIMGUL from October 2007 to June 2009, then JCW took over for the next four months until he resigned. I think he was the second most active TIMGUL member after myself and one of the most active (and best) musician there.

Back in the days, he also did ROM hacking.

On a side note, staff addition will most likely be this weekend, unless I add each staff one by one.

Good luck with everything! :D

Hmm I might consider applying to become staff eventually. except for the post policy i think I meet all the requirements. However, since I just only very recently joined omnimaga i'll just wait, win some games, earn some respect and release some uber-cool calc/computer gadgest and apps. Then I might just apply...

What is the staff responsible for? I can think up some things but I just want to hear it confirmed from staff... overlooked it, sorry.

Well posting-wise, if your post rate remained as it is, you would be fine, but of course we would wait a bit more to know you more and see to make sure you got some calc game/program tools in the works.

Note that we do not accept programmers that only do math, physics, basic shells or other things that are totally useless for the gaming TI community or game developpement. In fact, when BFR was still staff, he made numerous math programs, but none ever got added to our download section since Omnimaga is not meant to be a math program download site.
