Hi, many of you probably noticed the board was taken down again last evening. In fact some people found nothing better to do than ruining almost 2 years of hard work in a community. Last evening I talked to Invisionfree staff about this and according to them the crackers have found a security hole in their servers, allowing them to access the SQL database and edit, delete or overwrite the files. By doing so they also found my password, allowing them to access my admin CP as well, so they could deface the front page as well with a troll picture and the following signature.

"51+3 P//||3|) 8Y LORD REKOJLIRPA [email protected]"

Luckily during the night Invisionfree got able to repair the database and make the board functional and stable again, however due to the heavy damage done they won't be able to recover the topics and posts, as well as some forum sections. All members accounts are still intact though. I am sorry for the inconvenience this might cause. Now Invisionfree fixed the security hole so things like this will not happen again in the future but that doesn't mean that the troublemakers didn't ruined 2 years of hardwork into a community. They are the one to blame.

We will try to continue running the Omnimaga project like usual from now on. As for the archives, they will be probably replaced with the old ones, same for the link section, as I am not updating them much anymore nowadays.

We are hoping that IF has a back up of it. If they do, then we shouldn't have lost a lot of info... If not, it will give us a chance to get things re-organized...

Seriously, don't leave.  There are ton's of 68k people that need your help.  If not here, then definitely at UTI, we've got a huge surge of of new 89 Basic programmers.

this way we won't have any dead project forums laying around, but i still hope invision can help us out w/ a backup.  There pretty swamped though right now, apparantly we're not the only board this has happened too.

And I'm glad you are going to stick around  :)   It wouldn't be the same w/o you and we're prob. gonna need all the help we can get re-starting these forums.

Yeah, anyone who leaves or such, your just showing the hacker that what they are doing works, and will encourage them to do it again.  Please don't leave guys, it's a setback, but we can start it up again.  It's not like we're starting a new forum, we have all the members, we'll just need to post again.

I guess this is the best time to announce that I will no longer develop games for the TI-89 or any other hardware. Day5 is completely abandoned, and even though I finished the shooter game Skyway and made a playable demo of SW Racers, I will not release them anymore for obvious reasons.

I'll probably stick around for one or two more days, but just in case I forget, farewell, it's been fun while it lasted.

Altough quitting might not be an april fool joke for me, I dunno if I'll make it through the week. If I do I'll prbly only check this forum and my IRC channel and I might try to turn it into a non calc gaming site more (altough it would stay calc related), I mean there would be more stuff like Jc projects and Spengo FPS, just to try continuing coming here even if I quit calcs. I don't recall anyone complaining about what you do, at least not here on Omnimaga. Keep your head up, everything bad will eventually pass, meanwhile, tune it out with the little good things that come by. :) Seriously, why not distract yourself with Reuben3 or some other project?

what I though is that I will probably stay with my affiliates, except calchaven (due to what happened here) and Zilak (because its dead). As for IRC I will only be on #omnimaga and #rivereye (and #tiprogrammers maybe)
