For the third time since this incarnation of Omnimaga forums and the new programming team started, our members have made a total of at least 1000 posts in one month, with a total of 1024 so far. Altough this is not as high as our average of 1700 a month on the old board (excluding the temporary board used from January 1st 2008 until its shutdown on March 3rd 2008), we are still the most active game-oritented calculator forums on the web and one of the most active calculator forum, along with United-TI and Cemetech, in terms of monthly activity. Here is a graphic of the monthly posting statistics on Omnimaga from May 12th 2005 to March 3rd 2008 and from August 25th 2008 to May 26th 2009:

Thanks to all members for their contributions in the community!

Nice ;D But now I feel bad that I put us past 1024 :(
-
oh dont worry the graph is only for until today it doesnt matter too much unless ppl posted 1000 posts within the next few minutes lol

Way to go simple...

what do you mean trev?

I think he was saying "Way to go simple[thinker]..."
-
it was a joke because he said he felt bad for putting us over 1024.

Omnimaga discussion is mostly on developing games...
But this is a great board. It has very active members comparing to other forums...
My contribute is small, but I hope it is very positive. :P Let's get this thing back to glory days >_>
-
oh ok I was a bit worried it was in reply to my news post or my other comment, especially since you said "simple" :P
@Galandros, well actually, in some ways, Omnimaga being mostly aimed toward game programming is one good thing that most other forums doesn't have. Back in the days, the only board that was similar in that way was MaxCoderz and to a lesser extent Revsoft. UTI got a good period about that around 2006 too IIRC, where projects good good attention. However, aside from that everywhere else it's hard to get replies to your projects, since they are more oriented towards helping. On Omnimaga it will be harder to get programming help, but it will be easier to get constructive feedback on your projects. I think the later, combined with staff activity might have helped a lot in keeping this site active even after 8 months of downtime and with much fewer members than on United-TI and TI-BASIC Developper. On the old forums, it used to be this way too, but in 2007 almost the entire staff went inactive so fewer projects were announced and there was more offtopic talk, same on the temporary board (but again on the temporary board we had 3 days in a row with no post sometimes).

SWEET!!! I FEEL LIKE POSTING 1000 POSTS RIGHT NOW BUT I AM COMPLETELY SURE THAT WILL GET ME AN UNWARNED PERMANENT BAN!!! BUT STILL, SWEET!

I fired my best shot. How it increased? :P
Kidding.

Actully if you can pull off 1000 nonspam posts you wouldn't be banned but they couldn't be anything like me too.
-
well, i dont really see a way to post 1000 post all today without the majority of it being spamish. But, hey, I'll try my darndest to do it with a minimal spam (only 499, that way it isnt the majority lol)
-
agreed with Noahbaby94. This includes posts written in all caps, filled with smileys or huge text. There's a section on this forum dedicated to randomness and spam after all (altough guests can't see it), where post count doesn't increase.
-
But it does affect total post count of the forum.
-
As long as we don't upgrade to SMF 2.0

ive only been here a month or two (maybe three) but i already have 207 posts (208 now) and im 8th in the list of top posters, so i am proud to present myself as a somewhat large contributor to this achievement. not to be selfish or anything.

I wonder if I should change my name (probably to "snjwffl"), since I think we've used up all of the good puns for "simplethinker"...
-
I should just try to change my name to just noah.
Edit: Who is out there trying to kill my rep?

Hmmm, we can use it for joking with moderation, of course.
But maybe the reputation ought to be taken as serious thing... Not to be played with...
DJ what is your opinion? After all he is the board administrator.
-
im sorry. i really didnt mean anything bad.
-
well personally reputation doesnt have much importances, since almost everyone is rated positive. Some people will play with it to round up someone's number, though. For example, I've been stuck at 100 because whenever somebody rates me higher, someone else immediately rates me back to 100. The only way in which it is meaningful is that usually people who screw up often or are borderlines on forum rules breaking usually gets rated negatively. If I noticed somebody rated everybody down over and over I would probably disable it, though. It pretty much works like youtube comments rating, except that it's for members instead of posts
-
I dunno about u. But ur graph shows that we've had more then 1000 posts several times.. Like.. alot more then 3 times.
-
Yeah but it's still the 3rd time it did since Omnimaga reopening. Remember this incarnation of Omnimaga opened its doors to public in late August 2008. The old board did saw more than 1000 posts in a month much more than 3 times, though (even 4000, as you can see in the graph)
If we combined the old Invisionfree Omnimaga forums data (if Invisionfree gave me access to it) with the new one and merged old accounts for members who re-registered again on the new board, we would have around 63000 posts right now and several forum members would be over 2000 posts
-
several forum members would be over 2000 posts
Like me!
-
Nope. You would have at least 101, though. :P
