Another amazing work of ASM magic by thepenguin77: classic chess in flickerless grayscale (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6801.0;attach=6448). Not only that, but it supports both one-player and two-player mode, with legality checking, view switching, and a real AI. Although the AI isn't the best of players, this is still an amazing achievement.

Hey, congrats on the first news post. Man, I love that flicker-less grayscale.

This game is pure epic, the graphical part of it, the engine, love it all.

Way to go thepenguin! Please post something here so I can give you a +1!

This is awesome indeed. I can't really test the AI, though, because I didn't play Chess in over 8 years so I suck right now. XD

Hey, there should be an update for this coming pretty soon. I just got finished adding in the ability for AI to see if a piece is unprotected.
After I put some check checks in castling and fix the new problems created by ^^ (putting king in check is now the greatest move ever), you'll have a new version.

Awesome! I can't wait for an update. :D

Great work penguin. I was gonna say I have some sprites for a chess game, that would be a shame not use. If your interested your welcome to use them. Not to say that it doesn't look good as it is though.

If you have pieces, I'd love to see them. Although they need to fit in 8x8 squares.
